To demonstrate a depth of understanding of the Pacific shaped by academic, community, civil society and private sector expertise that exists in NZ. I am thirty-something London based Brit whose yoga journey quite literally started with a bang after I was hit by a van while cycling to work in 2015. Broken bones and lots of soft tissue damage ensued and months later when I still couldn't lift my arm above my head, I turned to yoga to heal myself. I had never done any form of movement/dance/gymnastics, couldn't touch my toes or do a press-up, and was (am!) working 60+ hours a week at a desk. You can read more about this in my blog series https://somewhatradyoga.com/category/.... That’s one woman moving the dial for herself. She is the CEO of her own life—aren’t we all?—and her small business. But most important, she’s moving the dial toward her passion and personal goal. And in doing so, she’s setting an example for other women. Their timing couldn’t be better. Now is our moment. For the first time, we have ample evidence that companies with women in leadership make more money. Political bodies with more women have better decision-making processes. We can make huge strides…if we take this opportunity to move the dial. New Zealand’s coalition government was formed with the intention of leading change rather than managing a modified status quo.

At the same time, New Zealand is proud to be full members of the Pacific family, and to have played a significant role in assisting the region to meet its challenges over the past generation. members of the child health workforce in Scotland signed an open letter to First Minister, Nicola Sturgeon. This letter was closed on 11 October following an announcement from the Scottish First Minster. Read our response to the announcement. There might not be votes in it but it is the right thing to do and it shows New Zealand’s seriousness in being an active and good neighbour. Use diverse role models and best practice examples to change the perception of the sector and support an increase in representation across all areas of diversity. It's been a slow and at times tough journey, but now I have a consistent and meaningful yoga practice. My asana practice mostly now consisting of self-practice, at home with my cats, in the snippets of time I can carve out in between work and family life, especially since becoming a mother. When Rebecca Anderton-Davies set her sights on a career in investment banking, she was clear about the sacrifices she’d have to make. Progressing up the career ladder to become managing director by the age of 37 required 15-hour days and weekend working, but she loved the stimulating work, the thrill of the trading floor and the financial rewards.

Drive impact across the industry through facilitating collaboration with key partners, peers and SMEs to support sector-wide EDI progress. I’m proud of how far Take The Lead has come in its first year. We’re making a real difference in women’s lives. Thank you for your support. Together we can keep moving that dial and reach our goal of leadership parity by 2025. As Sheryl Sandberg, COO of Facebook explains, “[Real] equality in the workplace and the home will make all of us better off. When we use the full talents of the population, our countries and companies are more productive. When men are 50/50 partners at home, marriages are stronger. When men are active fathers, their children are healthier, happier, and more successful. To reach leadership parity, we need to encourage women and men to work together towards equality.” Become recognised as the EDI leader in the sector, influencing culture, behaviour and EDI best practice with regard to inclusive design and placemaking. And before some fritter away this sentiment internationally, we are one of only 9 countries and Australia’s one of then, that can claim a line of unbroken democracy that’s held elections every set term, or earlier, since 1854. Only nine in this world and in terms of values as far as we are concerned it counts for something. And it would provide for an increase in New Zealand funding to multilateral institutions, especially the World Bank and the Asian Development Bank, both vital institutions that alongside donor states can offer sustainable investment choices for Pacific nations. I think the key to today's successful organisation is perhaps first the ability to recognise its potential irrelevance, secondly to make that clear in a new purpose and importantly to shape a plan around what true transformation looks like. This, in my mind, is true organisational foresight. I'm Rebecca, also known as RAD and Somewhat RAD. I am a yoga practitioner and teacher, online community founder, author, investment banker, wife and mother.

It isn’t about reinforcing the idea that you can have it all. Anderton-Davies points out that the World Health Organisation now officially recognises burnout as a workplace phenomenon. And for her, the idea of work-life balance is a “toxic mental model” that leaves us more prone to combustion and burnout. It is time to move to full adoption of patient-centred care, where the outcomes for, and experiences of, people are the key focus, but getting buy-in from clinicians is a critical part of this. As easy as it would be to dismiss Anderton-Davies as someone living a rarefied existence, particularly in a cost of living crisis, she says she’s proven that you can have a formidable career while pursuing other passions successfully, and most importantly, not burning out.A re-energized approach based on New Zealand values and increased technical and financial support to the Pacific. A re-energized approach also based on greater coordination of effort by all New Zealand stakeholders with an interest in the Pacific, with Pacific governments and people, and with key partners near and far. Right now, for example, she says her children are never dialled down too low – she spends 1 hour and 45 minutes a day with them, which includes meal times. Their books and games are spread out in the family living room. Yet child health inequalities are not an inevitability. They are the result of unfair and systematic differences in the social determinants of health between different groups of babies, children, and young people – and poverty is a driving factor.

The aim of her new book, Shifting the Dials, is, she says, to put “the final nail in the work-life balance’s well-deserved and long-overdue coffin”. Prioritising the formation of a Northern Ireland Executive and publishing an anti-poverty strategy and associated funding plan which places children and young people at the centre The best test of a true shift in the nature of an organisation today is that it recognises its transformed state is never achieved, rather a business today is in a constant evolutionary cycle. Responding first to the human factor and second to it's own people - perhaps driven by market dynamics, and that these are mostly fuelled by technology in today's marketplace. Nothing more than true marketing orientation itself - yes, we might finally be getting there! Embed EDI as integral to the vision and mission of CIHT through encouraging wider member participation in all aspects of governance and ensuring there are no barriers to membership and professional education.Slipping school results and concerns about teaching quality raise questions about how Australians will adapt to the wave of changes in the economy over the coming decades. Recognising that children and young people are a distinct group with specific needs and requirements in all future inequalities work The strategy was developed with the assistance of CIHT’s EDI panel and the Clear Company, a leading company that provides inclusive talent management, consultancy and online toolkits. The next steps will see the strategy embedded as a core activity for CIHT. The broad idea is that you have a dashboard aligned to your values, and on that are your dials, be they work, hobbies, family, socialising. The levels on your dials are then turned up and down according to what’s happening in your life.
