User Notes about the Distillery

Nose: Clean. Sweetish. Pronounced barley sugar. Some sherry. Palate: Medium-bodied. Very smooth indeed. Clean, malty, nutty.Finish: Nice balance of fragrant smoky dryness. Overall: Almost too perfect. Beautifully put together, but not quite memorable. With Water: A few drops of water add a bit more of that yeast note, but wash out the rest. Don’t bother with water here, 43% is low enough as it is. Dailuaine has spent its life quietly toiling away, making whisky to go into some of the world’s best loved Scotches, and it wasn’t until 1991 that it finally got its moment in the limelight, with the first ever Dailuaine officially bottled as a single malt, which also just happened to be a 16 year old for the Flora & Fauna series. Yes, my experience with this whisky started fairly swiftly when my buying finger secured a bottle of it at the very start of my whisky journey. the Distillery is completely renovated and is enlarged from four to six stills.
