Steve Hoffman is a documentary photographer who has who spent the last dozen years working with and photographing the people that live the housing projects in Coney Island. Alexandra Grant is a Los Angeles-based visual artist who explores language, literature and reading through painting, drawing, sculpture, video and other media. After experiencing the collection firsthand in Tulsa, each of the authors was asked to select a single item that beguiled or inspired them. I wasn't sure about getting it at first, but I managed to track down some images on the internet, and they convinced me to get it. Shadows, a new collaborative series by Alexandra Grant and Keanu Reeves, explores the real and symbolic nature of the shadow as image and figure of speech.

Is it a metaphor for the intimate, darker side of a person’s nature-as Carl Jung postulated-and the unconscious side of one’s self, where daemons and secrets are kept hidden or repressed? Reeves’s texts, written in tandem with the creation of the images, give voice to the multiple manifestations of the shadow: as a projected figure, a place of concealed emotion and an invocation to shadow play. Harris, and Paul Martineau plumb Tress’s work and archives, studying ephemera, personal correspondence, unpublished notes, diaries, contact sheets, and more to uncover how he went from earning his living as a social documentarian in Appalachia to producing surreal work of “imaginative fiction. Keanu’s performance was a breathless alphabet that ranged from stillness to dancing,” says the artist. This richly illustrated volume is the first critical look at the early career of Arthur Tress, a key proponent of magical realism and staged photography.

Allerdings sind die Fotos eine so starke Abstraktion seiner selbst, dass er nicht so ohne weiteres erkennbar ist.

It would seem that Alexandra Grant has found her muse in Keanu Reeves, at least for her photographic work. The espionage tools of the 1960s look primitive to a degree but they, too, have changed to conform to the current applications and tools used for cyber warfare and propaganda purposes.Leggings occaecat craft beer farm-to-table, raw denim aesthetic synth nesciunt you probably haven't heard of them accusamus labore sustainable VHS. Who else could present us with movements that are gentle and hard, static and ecstatic, genderless/divine and masculine/feminine? The images reflect the artist's eagerness to assimilate back into a home that feels at once foreign and familiar. The Need to Know, a photo book, is my exploration of the meager details that emerged from brief and cryptic conversations with my father and my curiosity about Cold War espionage and its impact upon my family at the time. His project, "Black Diamond," captured the lives of people, including men, women, and children, dedicated to coal extraction in grueling conditions.

The Eye Mama book is a photographic portfolio showcasing the mama narrative and the mama gaze, what female and non-binary photographers see when they look at, and into the home.I'd be interested to know how the book was compiled; whether photos were chosen then comments added like an ink blot reaction, or the photos were interpretive. Reeves’s texts, written in tandem with the creation of the images, give voice to the multiple manifestations of the shadow: as a projected figure, a place of concealed emotion, and an invocation to shadow play. Reeves' words would be revealing, if you were unaware of who wrote them - he is a famously guarded person.
