Today I want to give you a Salacious Players Club series review by Sara Cate. These books have been taking booktok by storm and I have to say it’s one of my favorite contemporary romance series. I just finished reading the third book in the series and I can’t wait for Mercy to come out in August. I appreciated the representation of a hero with depression, though I would have like to see it discussed earlier and more throughout the book and not just at the last 80% of it. She also forgives way too easily. Raise your standards, girl. And stop being immature. And stop using the words “flesh” and “belly.” I don’t know why, but they are 0% sexy. “Flesh” reminds me of Hannibal Lecter. “Belly” reminds me of a dog. Stop that.

I loved this book so much! I didn’t think it could be as good as the first in the series, but it somehow lived up to my high expectations. This book delves into some deeper themes involving mental health, and I absolutely adored how Cate handled this subplot. It’s realistic, but doesn’t overpower the romance plotline and doesn’t drag down the mood too much. I enjoyed seeing the progress of Garrett and how he slowly accepted that he had depression. It’s rare to see it in books & especially from a MMC perspective. In the last two weeks, my stepsister has gone from being the pesky little girl I watched grow up into the only person on the earth that I want to see when I open my eyes in the morning." Cate (Burn for Me) opens her Salacious Players Club series with this kinky and sizzling erotic romance. After Charlotte Underwood, 21, breaks up with her boyfriend, Beau, she needs her half Continue reading »

In Garrett Porter’s line of work, that’s a gift. As one of the owners of the Salacious Players’ Club, he’s comfortable on the sidelines and has always felt that he works best alone. Someday a man will come along who won’t like what you do. He’ll want you to himself because he thinks you’re nothing more than a body he can control, and it will be because he’s insecure. A real man knows that truly possessing someone is a privilege, and it’s not their body you’ll own. It’s so much more. I want you to know the difference, Mia. What I Loved i was expecting a bit more “taboo” since this is a step-siblings romance but honestly it was barely mentioned that I forgot for almost the entirety of the book that they were.

Well, we’ve only been open for three months, but we did have a party of five rent the biggest voyeur room a couple weeks ago.” Mia has never been able to settle into something she is passionate about. She feels like everyone sees her as a lazy, scatterbrained child. Especially her sexy, older stepbrother. She has found control and worth in fulfillment in her cam girl work, where she calls the shots. Then Garrett decides to come to the family cabin for the first time in years and there is this crazy new chemistry between them. She's had a crush on him for ages but.. is he looking at her differently? Everything comes full circle in this book and I loved seeing an empowered woman embrace her sexuality and a lost and misunderstood man finally be free to be himself. I would say the theme for this book is heavy in self acceptance and I absolutely loved it. Salacious Players Club Series Review I’ve hated Beau since the very beginning but Sara Cate owns me so I was willing to give him a chance at redemption. I wasn’t expecting to see a younger version of myself in his character. Everyone is going to talk about how bad ass Maggie is but the character growth with Beau is so beautiful I can’t get enough of it.Warm- a medium level of sexual tension, a balance of sexual and emotional intimacy, lighter on the details in the sexual moments. In Mercy, Maggie is 34, part owner of Salacious, and just bought a house, but it’s just her and her dog. She’s always believed she was vanilla until the quiz on her own app tells her she’s a domme. To make matters more interesting she gets a match to a bratty 22 year old who happens to be her friends son who’s also new to kink. It doesn’t have to be serious, they can experiment and learn together, and in secret. There’s also just like a shitty power imbalance the whole book, and literally at no point is it balanced— I don’t have the energy to dive into that rn but it was deeply disappointing to me Maybe the reason my marriage is so sacred to you is because you’ve always been a part of it. And maybe what I’m asking you isn’t so crazy, after all.” Sara Cate, Give Me More Again we have some amazing supporting characters in this book that make the story so much better. I laughed a lot with this book, I cried at some points, and I enjoyed the story a lot. I liked that Sara Cate touches on depression and mental health issues. I love that we have a curvy and confident female main character. This was a great book. Give Me More

I do think you make it better. Because I can be myself around you, Mia. I can show you my sometimes ugly mess of a life and you can show me yours, and it doesn’t scare us away.” This story took a turn that I wasn't expecting (See TWs). When the 3rd act conflict hit, I was super disappointed that it seemed so predictable, after a story that was so unique and then.... Sara Cate had a much bigger meaning to convey. I was crying at the end of this and I was stunned that this sexy little voyeur tale had so much more to give. I hope you will give it a go.This sibling rivalry is strange, mostly due to the fact that when they met she was 8 and he was 21. Like you seriously had a strained relationship with a child? Superficial characters with no distinguishable personality traits other than voyeur and exhibitionist. So I have to start off by saying the first book in this series 'Praise', unfortunately did nothing for me. But I think it just showcases that its perfectly normal and okay that you might not care for one book by an author and you might absolutely love another, even in the same series. Not every book is for everyone. Even if you love the tropes and themes and the author. And that's okay. I think we forget that often. It's was the character connection for me that made a world of difference between the first book and this one. I couldn't connect with the first books MC's, while Garrett and Mia captivated me right away.

One, Mia and Garrett can’t stand each other. Two, she has no idea he’s the man on the other end of the video. And three, he’s hooked—on the app, and on her.Now Mia has awakened something in Garrett. She has him wanting and doing things he said he’d never do again, like opening up and getting attached. He’s falling for her, but she’s falling for the man he’s only pretending to be. Meanwhile, Emerson is an emotionally unavailable man who is very clear about what he desires physically and isn’t afraid or ashamed to go for it. Emerson is a dominant man who works through his emotional issues in this book and I am here for it. I have been wronged. I was out moraled. I can deal with a lot when it comes to taboo romances. Birthday girl? Loved that shit. Age gaps? I can do it. Step siblings? Sure I guess, AS LONG AS THERE ISN’T A SIXTEEN YEAR AGE GAP AND OUR MALE LEAD KNEW HIS LITTLE SISTER SINCE SHE WAS EIGHT. AND SHES A VIRGIN. WHY. Garrett is a voyeur, so he enjoys watching other people have sex. It's his thing. One night, he logs onto an app, only to find his stepsister there. Surprised doesn't begin to cut it. And, all of a sudden, she's not that infuriating little brat he knew. She's a woman. A woman he shouldn't want, but does. The question is... what's he going to do about it? I think what I like most about this series is just how different each book is. We aren’t getting the same story line. We don’t get the same personalities, we don’t get the same body types, we don’t get the same conflicts.I stopped a bit after they actually had sex, but this is by no means a slow burn since they get sexual within the first 10% of the book and then have a sex scene every other scene. There's nothing BUT sex, and it would have been fine if this didn't try so hard to be deep And have no fear... it definitely brings the spice. The kinks and the sexy times are epic. It just made this book work on so many levels for me. I cannot wait to see what the next 2 books bring. There is some great set up for the next relationship and I am very much anticipating how Sara Cate brings it to life.
