This book had everything one expects from a David Walliams book; a fantastic story, wonderful characters, and a great message for young readers.When Larker is sent to the school for pulling a prank, she quickly realises something very odd is going on . The stories themselves are always well thought out and spark the imagination, and David Walliams does create unique characters and brings each of them to life. The plot rushes too quickly with no chance to build any character relationships, or to feel any empathy.

Scariest of all, though, is the Science teacher Doctor Doktur, and soon Larker uncovers a sneaky plotconcerning him, some strange spectaclesand a ‘Monsterfication Machine’.
