Exam booking

Piano exams are graded on a scale, and the student must pass each level before moving on to the next grade. The exams become progressively more challenging as the student moves up in grade levels. It’s essential to choose the right grade level that matches the student’s current playing level and goals. If you do fail Grade 1 Piano, it’s not the end of the world. You can retake the exam at a later date and work on improving your skills in the meantime. It’s also important to remember that the purpose of the piano grades is not to discourage or intimidate students, but to give them a clear path to follow and a way to measure their progress. So, even if you don’t pass every grade on your first try, don’t be discouraged. Keep at it, and you’ll get there eventually. The Tuba syllabus may be offered on an Eb, F, Bb, or C tuba. All pieces may be played on any of these four instruments (reading either bass or treble clef). Candidates may adapt passages or transpose parts and/or accompaniments as necessary for their instrument. When you reach grade 3, you start to see some slightly challenging pieces. This exam includes scales in contrary motion and similar motion, and they have more sharps and flats. Some of the scales are hands together while others are still hands separate.

The advanced piano grades are designed for serious musicians who are committed to their craft. These grades include pieces that are incredibly challenging, often requiring intricate finger work and advanced musicianship skills. Additionally, advanced students will be required to demonstrate a deep understanding of music theory, and will be expected to perform at a very high level. Although the work is demanding, advanced piano grades can be incredibly rewarding for those who are up for the challenge. Basic Piano Grades: Grades 1-3 The Part Books are divided into three sections – for treble-clef brass, bass-clef-brass and Eb tuba bass-clef readers. Each section includes duet accompaniment. There are nine total piano grades under the Associated Board of the Royal Schools of Music (ABRSM) system. This system includes many Royal schools of music throughout the UK. Before you start, take some seconds to figure out how you will begin. This involves setting the tempo and thinking about the sound of the piece when you play it. There are misprints in the first edition of this piece/book where in bars 13, 21 & 26, all A♭s are missing in the left hand. This will be corrected by the publisher in future reprints.Bb tuba players reading treble clef will find the ‘Winners Galore for Trumpet and Trombone – accompaniment book’ more suitable than the tuba accompaniment book All scales are to be played 2 octaves, hands together and separately. Most arpeggios are still be played separate hands except for A major and G minor which need to be played both hands so more practice would be required. Grade 4 is another intermediate level, and it has the same basic sections as the previous exams. For the prepared pieces, you can choose music from Beethoven, Liszt, and Bartok, so you're starting to get into serious piano repertoire. To pass, you must get at least 100 points out of 150. You can pass with merit or distinction if you get more points. Grade 6 One will mark and run the exam and the other one is just an observer. Short pauses can appear between sections, pieces, or songs. This is sometimes necessary for examiners to record comments. What is the highest piano grade?
