And that’s exactly what the Lineage series has to offer. What Are the Key Features of the Lineage Series? Battery life: Solar rechargeable. 4 months (normal use without exposure to light after full charge). 22 months (when stored in total darkness with the power save function). My AE1200 does feel cheap (which it is) and rattly...until correctly sized and then is actually not bad at all....I guess it's all relative. Despite its beauty, remarkably, the dial also houses a solar cell as part of the ‘tough solar’ technology. This is a solar-powered system, akin to Citizen’s ‘eco-drive’, which allows the watch battery to be charged directly from exposure to sunlight. According to the manual, this takes just 8 minutes to fully charge in outdoor sunlight and can hold the power reserve for a minimum of 4 months, even with no further exposure to light. This means battery changes aren’t going to be needed nearly as frequently as with a traditional quartz movement; there are reports of some of these even lasting several decades before failing to hold a charge. As we know, the bracelet leaves a lot to be desired. The worst part, IMO is the clasp. I do not understand why manufacturers make clasps without at least one full link's worth of fine adjustment. I was in that unfortunate position where I needed something in between having the bracelet attached at the far hole and adding another link.

The button tones for using the mode button can be turned off. This means that the watch no longer beeps when switching from one function to another. Preset alarm or countdown timers remain active when the button tones are deactivated. Invisible solar cells in the watch convert light into energy and supply all functions. A rechargeable battery provides the necessary capacity for operation in poor light conditions. If a battery arrives at mid power (or even low), have no fear, they can easily be brought right up to high with a good 1-2 day sun bath. It would have been the icing on the cake with a rating of 100 m or more, but on the other hand the Lineage models are not meant to compete with outdoor watches, they are after all watches designed with dress code in mind, so in reality there is no need for more.

In spite of the moderate appearance of the Lineage watches , they actually have several useful features. Always reliable: This watch has a particularly secure safety catch, which helps prevent the strap from opening by mistake. So far, my only complaint is that I’ve been unable to set the watch using the radio signal out of Fort Collins, although I’ve only had the watch for a couple of nights and the weather here (Vancouver, B.C.) has been overcast and rainy.Titanium v Steel - I find this SO light it almost feels cheap and nasty! I don't mind a bit of weight and the steel ones are so much cheaper so I may go for steel. This one is for a relative as a gift, but I want one myself now, this gave me a chance to try it out. The only considerations I have now are: The Lineage LCW-M510D depends on Casio’s Multi Band 6 technology. Every night, the watch synchronizes itself with a radio time signal sent from a transmission station in Japan, North America, UK, Europe or China (depending on your location). If you’re out of range, the quartz watch delivers +/- 15 seconds per month accuracy. Nice review! Thanks for comparing both versions in such a detail. I own an lcw-m100tse as well as a lcw-m100dse. To me the titanium version is a bit more comfortable. Lighter, a touch warmer and the surface of the titanium looks a bit more expensive. with Weekday Display, with Battery Charge Indicator, with 12/24 Hour Format, with Date Display, with Month Display
