Along with illustrated crochet techniques, there are also suggestions for gifting and finishing touches such as crocheted ties to keep your blanket folded when you give it as a gift. The blanket ties can be embellished with mini pompoms, crochet hearts or crochet flowers. With 20 projects in total, you are spoilt for choice, and each gift set is worked in coordinated colorways and styles. My favourite fibre is cotton. I love the stitch definition but it's not great for beginners so I would always advise a good quality acrylic to start with.

If you could give any advice for anyone new to online blogging or thinking of trying it out, what would it be? row: 3ch, work 1tr in the stitch at the base of the beginning 3ch, *skip the next 2 sts and work 3tr in the next st; repeat from * to the last 2 sts, skip 1 st and work 1tr in the last st, turn. I would say to just give it a go, it doesn’t have to be perfect at the beginning. You can always work on improving your photographs and you have to start somewhere.

Her reassuring video tutorials will give everyone the confidence to master all of the crochet stitches featured.A little while ago I was commissioned to design a spring crochet along and it was such a pleasure to be asked. I have had a busy few months crocheting samples and finalising my design, and it has accompanied me everywhere. It has been a lovely project to work on during the cold grey, wintery days. Third round: Change to dark green, join to st to left of top right corner st. Work as second round. I also wanted it to be a blanket that could easily be popped in the washing machine (an essential requirement for a child’s blanket). The yarn I chose was Stylecraft Special DK which is a favourite of mine. It is hard wearing and easy to wash. It also comes in a great array of colours and is very economical.
