With this book, Laurence Llewelyn-Bowen will not only explain how to adopt maximalism in the home, but promises to change your outlook on living happily in it. Structured within a complete timeline of maximalism, there's something for everyone to love!

Laurence standing in his panelled hallway More More More by Laurence Llewelyn-Bowen Tell us about your favourite memory at home The 'Owen' suite, inspired by Victorian patternista and architect, Owen Jones, using patterns from the Llewelyn-Bowen Fabric Collection, and featuring LLB wallpaper available from wallpaperdirect.com (Image: Steve Thorp) He also encourages people to use fragrances within their homes – but to stay away from modern trends, such as green grass and clean laundry. This room is based around a design of repeating sunflowers which I think he [Oscar Wilde] saw as a symbol of himself. Gilbert & Sullivan took the piss out of him and the aesthetic movement with Patience, and in fact the wallpaper in ‘May Morris’ is called ‘Down The Dilly’ because it features a tulip and a lily; in the aria that Bunthorne sang, he walked down Piccadilly, ‘with a tulip or a lily’.’ More More More is overflowing with Laurence's signature style, exuberance and a lifetime's experience in lavish living and take-no-prisoners individuality. Part narrative treatise, part visual celebration of Maximalism through the ages, it is rich in history, anecdotes and quite a few rules, most of which are to be broken. Having spent his entire career encouraging people to reject decorative modesty, LLB will not only show the reader how to embrace Maximalism in their home, but promises to change how they live within it. Minimalists beware. He is sometimes credited as "Laurence Llewelyn", [5] and the components of his name are sometimes misspelled [6] as "Lawrence". [7] On Changing Rooms, he is occasionally jocularly styled "Lord Laurence", a play on Laurence Olivier and Llewelyn-Bowen's flamboyance. In 2019, he took part in the BBC series Celebrity Painting Challenge and he became a judge alongside Juliet Ashworth in the Australian programme Instant Hotel. Since 2017 he has appeared on the Australian TV series House Rules in seasons 5-8 as one of three judges, co-starring with Home Beautiful editor in chief Wendy Moore, and award-winning Australian architect Drew Heath. In 2020, Moore and Heath were replaced by interior designer Kyly Clarke and builder Saul Myers.

The idea was to revivify the Arts and Crafts movement, as it existed from 1880 to 1930, but for a completely new millennia. ‘It’s such an indelible part of the British aesthetic psyche,’ he says, ‘I think it can and should be used to lead into a completely new way of decorating.’ I’m very moved by people’s faith,’ he says, ‘it’s a beautiful thing. I also get very moved by the historical accretion of faith. Our churches which are so very old and so very beautiful were created by generations of people – there were no short-cuts – and then their descendants went there and sang, worshipped and read poetry. That moves the hell out of me. I don’t need God in that; the people are more than enough.’ Although there are no Northern Ireland homes featured in the current Changing Rooms series, he very much hopes to bring the show over here in the future.Next year, he’ll be presenting the long-awaited new series of Changing Rooms for Channel 4, this time alongside Davina McCall. His aim for the show is simple: colour. Laurence’s family dining room More More More by Laurence Llewelyn-Bowen What does your outdoor space mean to you? And it was a role that Hermione was happy for her dad to take, sharing: "There was no way I’d say no as I knew he'd have my best interests at heart." Laurence's new book rides on the crest of a maximalism wave that is currently flooding the interiors world, creating unique homes across the land, some of which are likely to be featured in Laurence's new and up-coming Channel 4 show Outrageous Homes with Laurence Llewelyn-Bowen. But red had to get in there somewhere though it has apparently now been changed to tone it down (Image: Channel 4)
