Elliot conducted his first interview with John on 10 October 1971, the day after Lennon’s 31st birthday. Their conversation led to a friendship that would continue throughout the rest of John’s life. Elliot remains close to Yoko and Sean. Before the strings and the saxophone, before the brilliant application of sound shaping techniques that were used to produce the iconic album, there were the original, unadorned performances that were the foundation of the Imagine album.
