The author had a great idea about the book and since I've read the first book in the series and it was just fine I know that this book could've been wayyyy better.

Verena and Adrian were enjoyable. I actually have no complaints about Adrian, which honestly is rare with MMCs. In contrast, To All the Boys I’ve Loved Before has both Lara Jean and Peter enter their fake relationship with their eyes open. They sign a contract in which they make their expectations toward one another clear, and they make honesty and transparency a requirement of the contract. Accordingly, To All the Boys contains scene after scene of Lara Jean and Peter sharing their deepest hopes and dreams and desires with one another, and then reminding each other that their relationship is, of course, fake. “I could write you notes,” Peter says, gazing adoringly at Lara Jean, before he tells her that he’s only doing it to make his ex jealous. Lara Jean explains that she has issues with intimacy because of the death of her mother, before brightly pointing out that she doesn’t have to worry about that with Peter because “we’re just pretending.” Coviluted yet predictable storyline - Faking dating someone to make the guy you're fake dating jealous. Okay I haven't read that before but it was kind of sloppy.

girl what the hell 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥 the pace of this book threw me off & honestly the whole divorce factor would have worked much better if it was a year long relationship. no one moves on that fast from 13 years bruh. i felt like the bubbly personality was a little reinforced at times & icl the whole book could have gone without connor, the roommate sort of romance & hannah. there were a lot of factors that made the book more confusing if anything bcs they just didn’t line up or match the general vibe of the book; what is it w romcom writers and gangs ?1?2?4??2! they always start off so sweet & lovey dovey then BAM‼️ a gang, the mafia, or a stalker decides to show up. there are ways to create a rift between the mc’s without creating plot points THAT MAKE NO SENSE 🗣️🗣️ ngl i saw a insta reel abt this book & finished it in literally less than an hour. it wasn’t a waste of time bcs it all goes to my end or year goal for 150 these two have some super cute moments and hella hot ones too. There is obviously chemistry there from the start. I just felt the way it was written it seemed like it all happened over a week or two. if zac wasn’t going through a divorce & it was just a breakup, rather than having crazy stalker connor and instead just having a miscommunication arc, i would have loved this book sm more. it literally could have just been zac & hannah but jus w escalation towards more misunderstandings and jealousy 🧍‍♂️ It's obvious that the author tried to make her and Mina have the tiktok personality but it's just bad. Thats probably one of things I cringed for the most. For example:

This is my first book by this author, I really do have a bad habit for not reading the previous books in the series when I see it can be read as a standalone - don’t get me wrong that was true with this book too but you also know that the previous couple are now together so they are obviously all going to be interconnected. (This one is the second in the series)Is it too early to say I’m inlove with this book? Well I’m saying it anyway. I love the characters in this book, Zac is such an ideal boyfriend like where can I find him, like I need him in my life seriously❤️‍🔥. Mina is such a bubbly character. I love her character too, these couple compliment each other so well. They found the love they need and deserve in each other💝. The writer did so great in this book, I love her writing style, it is such a easy read. I applaud skyla summers as this is only her second book out and she did such a good job in this book and in her first book👏💘. The chemistry between characters was there, this is such a fun, light, flirty romance book. I would totally recommend it🫶. Then Adrian and verena finally sort of got together with the whole fake dating and then Darius appears. And verena finds it a good idea to let Adrian think that she sleeps with Darius, which she doesn’t. And then she is wondering why Adrian has the GODDAMN NERVE to say that he has lunch with his ex, but verena is just so conveniently forgetting that she is rubbing Darius in his face, like wtf was Adrian supposed to do when nobody tells him that it isn’t true. And miss verena is then mad at Adrian for not telling her his feelings. Like girl why you sending mixed signals.
