We’re trying to replicate the same lighting conditions for each test, as far as we can, but right now our findings are based on observation rather than scientific testing…and different lighters will probably suit different fires or stoves. But anyway…. Once all of the wax is dissolved we can now prepare the sawdust. We have two options here. Making our own firelighters allows us to make use of natural and waste materials from our property and personally, I find it an enjoyable process. Flamers natural firelighters are made with natural wood shavings and fully refined up-cycled paraffin wax, making them a natural and eco-friendly option for starting fires. For large lighters use large cotton balls and silicone ice cube or confectionary trays with large shapes. These would let you make hearts, spooky ghost faces, magical unicorns, or a whole bunch of upvotes. Another one without the chemical smells which is great! (Again, because of the natural, sustainable materials, so this one is environmentally friendly, too). The good thing about this is that you can use these for pizza ovens and bread ovens as you don’t have to worry about any nasty smells or chemicals contaminating your food. I’ve tried these on my BBQ and the same went for the food as it was odour free.
