Speaking about the challenge of remixing those early albums, Martin told Variety last year that he was “looking for the technology to to do something really innovative with ‘Rubber Soul’ and ‘Revolver,’ as opposed to just a remastering job, because it’s been remastered already.” The suspense over which album by the Beatles might be next in line to get a remix and bonus-filled boxed-set treatment is over: It’s officially “ Revolver.” The Revolver recording sessions began on April 6, 1966, following a rare four-month break. “One thing’s for sure,” John Lennon said a few weeks before the band’s return to the studio, “the next LP is going to be very different.”

Allison Russell and Her Childhood Pal, ‘Eras Tour’ Creative Director Ethan Tobman, on Teaming Up for Epic ‘Demons’ Music Video (EXCLUSIVE)All the rest of the songs on side one are also impressive. The voices and instruments are so clear on “I’m Only Sleeping”, “Love You To”, “Here There And Everywhere” (Gorgeous!), “Yellow Submarine”, and “She Said She Said”. We’re hearing the nuances of the instrumental arrangements for the first time.

Besides the versions of “Rain”, the other outtakes are interesting in how the songs progressed to the finished versions. “Yellow Submarine” started completely different, with John singing… “In the place where I was born, no one cared, no one cared.” Of course it eventually became a children’s singalong song. I do not buy such expensive stuff too often, but I bet the Stones would deliver a cheap booklet and, in best case, a gatefold cover for that price. It is worth the investion. But the mono album cut... being born and raised on stereo recordings, loving their fidelity and possibilities, this mono album cut is extra-terrestrial, overwhelming beauty all the way. I am a true believer in atheism, but this record could be able to convince me of divinity, and again: reading records had be returned three times (without satisfying results) makes me wonder. I had my "Goats Head Soup " experience with GZ media, the record not being a 187% perfect, but 99.5 percent of my GZ media experience has been extremly satisfying, this set of records being a good example of their ability to deliver greatness. I feel that the one little noise that appears on almost any vinyl will be highly exaggerated by some people who won't praise pure quality made by people east/ west/ north & south of their hemisphere. GZ did everything right with this one, proper works for which I cannot praise them highly enough. I have my father's original Capitol U.S. copy of Revolver, several of the later U.S. pressings. a no bar code German copy and an original Parlophone Giles Martin on Remixing and Expanding the Beatles’‘Let It Be’ — and What the Future Holds for Their Deluxe Editions This remix of Revolver is the most important remix so far. It doesn’t sound exactly like the album we’ve enjoyed for 56 years, and that might bother some people, but the remix sounds better. It’s the way this innovative album deserves to be heard. No Blu-Ray, no sale for me. It’s that simple. First major Beatles release I’ve said “no” to…and that’s over 55 years. The Beatles in Abbey Road Studios during recording of the Revolver album in 1966 (Photo: Apple Corps Ltd.; used with permission) The Beatles producer Giles Martin has confirmed a deluxe boxset of the band’s 1966 album ‘Revolver’ is in the works.
