The range of motions is quite satisfactory for the price, and you can rotate, swivel the arms on their base and tilt the monitor. Well, the name says it all. It’s a simple arm and doesn’t have frills like a dual-tone exterior or anything along those lines. Instead, it bears a simple look. But let that not deter you, for this arm has plenty of features hidden up its sleeve. For one, it’s equipped with a gas-spring arm, which makes moving the monitor easy. Secondly, it’s pretty flexible and offers a range of motions. You can adjust the height up to 22 inches. As far as handling the weight of the monitors I have had no trouble thus far. I am still making tension adjustments to optimize the setup though. Yesterday, as an example, I noticed one of the monitors was sinking slightly when elevated to its highest point. I tightened the adjustment and it's been fine since. While it is quite easy to adjust the hex-screws that control tension, it is a bit more difficult to discern the impact of those adjustments. Sometimes I think I've made a big adjustment by rotating the hex-screw several times but can't really tell if I've made any difference. Also, the tension seems to vary across different points through the range of movement. Maybe this is normal for these types of arms? I'm satisfied thus far, but there is certainly room for improvement. One of the biggest draws of monitor arm stands is that they are highly adjustable, much more so than the standard freestanding mounts that most monitors come with. Monitor arms can adjust up and down easily, which many monitor stands cannot. Monitor arms can also adjust toward and away from you.

The cleanliness of my desk (at least most times when working and not like how pictured above lol) goes because of these accessories: The other factor to keep a close eye on is the weight limit of the monitor mount. While most of the mounts on our list have comparable maximum weights, it’s important to make sure your monitor won’t put too much strain on the arm before purchasing it. Many users would be pleased with the unassuming looks of the VIVO monitor arm. It blends into most environments without standing out which is a bonus if you’re going for a minimalistic setup. Last but least, it’s sturdy and doesn’t wobble. 4. Mount-It Premium Single Monitor ArmWhy this crank adjustable over an electric adjustable desk? PRICE is right! The crank is not difficult at all and only takes a few seconds vs an electric with single or dual motor where I would have to worry about the motor going out in the future. (I plan to keep this desk for many many many years). Motor will eventually go out and would have to look for another or fix it yourself. The size of the desk was perfect for portability going through doors from one room to the next while most electric stand up desk have it too wide for it and/or buy the desktop separate. The bottom line is if you are looking for a durable, good-looking, and flexible monitor arm for your ultrawide monitor, you can consider this. As a bonus, you also get access to a couple of USB ports and an AUX port. 3. VIVO Premium Aluminum Heavy-Duty Arm

The range of motions is satisfactory and should work well for you, especially if you move around a lot while you game/work. For instance, you can pull it as far as 22 inches. Plus, the base can even rotate 360 degrees around the base. It’s pretty flexible and lets you tilt, rotate, and swivel. For instance, the mid-section can rotate 360 degrees, and the base can rotate 180 degrees. So, you can pull the monitor down or move it a little sideways. There are a variety of things that could lead people to use a monitor arm. For some, the ergonomics (and convenience) of being able to move your monitor exactly where you want, well, it’s something that can be hard to give up. For others, the desk space being saved by taking the monitor off the desk is invaluable. Monitor arms are a great way to reduce the amount of desk space that your computer setup occupies. They also make your monitor look amazing, giving it a floating aesthetic that looks incredible if you’re creating a more minimal, clean-looking setup.

Though it costs a little more than its counterparts, it’s a heavy-duty stand and does its work as advertised to justify the price tag. There’s some great cable management system in place, and you won’t have wires running on your desk. 2. AVLT Single Monitor Arm Support for multiple monitor sizes: Because 27-inch monitors have become so common— they don’t cost much more than smaller displays—we considered only monitor arms that could handle a screen at least that size. All the models we tested can work with smaller displays, and a few can even hold larger displays, up to 34 inches. Tripp Lite 3 Outlet Surge Protector Power Strip with Desk Clamp – Its out of the way and stays right next my monitor stand. Cord is long for portability. The build is solid enough to take the weight of most regular ultrawide displays. The company claims that the arms can take around 16,000 cycles before calling it a day. Though no one keeps a count, the odds are that as long you handle it delicately, it will last a long time.

The arms do allow for nearly soundless adjustment. I am able to make adjustments while on a call and nobody hears it. At the same time, if you want the arms to be a little stiff, you need to tighten the screws at the right place, and that’s about it. Another heavy-duty monitor arm is the one by VIVO. The company also makes other products like standing desks and desk converters. This one is designed to hold the weight of standard wide monitors up to 33 lbs. The arm comes with three joints and is easily adjustable. For now, you can rotate, swivel, and adjust the monitor’s height. If we talk numbers, the height ranges between 10.5 inches and 23.5 inches. Smoothness of motion: We preferred monitor arms that were firm enough to stay put while we worked but could reposition easily and didn’t require too much force. Officially the Mount-it monitor arm supports 33 pounds (35-inch). It’s strong and stable and has no issues in holding its position. The good thing is that the arms can be tightened and loosened. And like some of its counterparts above, it also comes with a duo of USB 3.0 and AUX ports. However, note that the USB ports might not be fast charge your smartphone at full speed.
