VIDEO:WARRINGTON is set to become the first place in Cheshire to get its very own official Monopoly game – and members of the public have a chance to suggest famous landmarks to feature in the iconic board game. They provide a vital service, helping families in need during challenging times. They are very well thought of in our community, so it’s a great honour to see them take up a square on the board. Moore Nature Reserve – The beauty spot comprises almost 200 acres of woodland, meadows, lakes and ponds, and is home to many diverse species of plants, animals. The board – which is set to feature key locations from around the town such as Walton Hall and Gardens, the Golden Gates, and the home of the Warrington Wolves, the Halliwell Jones Rugby Stadium, all of which are each tipped to feature prominently – is being officially launched at Walton Hall and Gardens on the same day it is released in shops. Our residents and families will have many memories and favourite places across our town, and I look forward to seeing what suggestions are proposed.”The Mayor of Warrington, Cllr Jean Flaherty, says: “This is really exciting for the people of Warrington and it’s fantastic to know that we’ll be able to buy the Warrington edition of MONOPOLY from October. I can’t wait to see which landmarks and locations are featured on the board as part of this iconic game.

Warrington to get its own official MONOPOLY game

Warrington becomes the very first Cheshire place to land its own official MONOPOLY game. In 2001 there was a part Chester one, with other Cheshire towns featuring too. No city or town in Cheshire has ever had its very own game. To land the honour Warrington has beaten nine other places including rugby rivals Widnes. The makers of this new version of MONOPOLY are Winning Moves, who are producing the game under licensing from Hasbro. Bents Garden Centre – who doesn’t love a trip to bents, and to go a step further, you could own this popular business when playing the game. Pass GO and Advance to The Golden Gates... and if along the way you fancy becoming the owner of those famous Golden Gates, you can, for just Monopoly money. The most inventive and creative entry will win,” says Jennifer Lau, from the game’s makers, Winning Moves UK. “We are totally open-minded as to the form the entries should take, be they visual or in video form, or in whatever other creative form you can think of.” Lymm Dam – the beauty spot is a lovely place to relax and unwind, walking around the tranquil location.
