Description

Allows you to claim 4, 5, and 6 space routes. The Mechanical Stoker is still needed to claim 3 space routes. Some routes between two cities benefit from two train lines, however, these only come into play when there are three to five players. When there are just two players these double routes are not in play, and you will need to find another way around. Exception: The Southampton - New York route is a special route that can be claimed at any time and without any Technology.

You may play this card to claim a route that was already claimed by another player. When playing this card, you must still play the correct number of cards to claim the route. When one player gets down to two or fewer trains left at the end of their turn, each player, including that player, gets one final turn. The game then ends and it is time to see who has won! Superheated Steam Boiler – Cost 2: You can claim 4, 5, and 6 space routes. (You still need the mechanical stoker to claim 3 space routes.) It's really easy to understand, it's super fast-paced because you can only do one thing on your turn (draw new cards or claim a route), and it still gives the brain a nice workout if you like to play tactically. The complete set also includes a rules booklet that provides the instructions for two different games; one using ferries and ships while the other uses train only. It’s up to you how you want to play! Gameplay And Features

If you are likely to forget to immediately score some of the routes you claim, we recommend designating a player as the scorekeeper; have him move all the Score Markers throughout the entire game, or at least prompt the other players to do so when they forget. This map can be played with 2 to 4 players, but the double routes are not used in the 2-player game. The board itself is a good size. The map of the USA is a thing of beauty, highlighting main cities from Montreal and Vancouver to Los Angeles and Miami, with everywhere in between all connected by rail. The concept of the gameplay is complicated at first but satisfyingly simple once you grasp the mechanics of the game.At the beginning of their turn, before taking their regular action, a player may discard Locomotives to buy ONE Technology Card. Remember that any 4 cards may be used as a Locomotive (or any 3 cards if you have the Booster Technology), even in this occasion. The ability for players always having access to their last claimed route which can be used each turn after it has been completed until another route is claimed instead (known as Train Stations). This allows you never to lose your trains even if they reach their destination meaning additional points at the game’s end! This restriction of route length in the early game adds a new level of play and forces players to change up their tactics on the fly as new technologies are opened up and new opportunities become available. Which technologies will end up in your hand is fairly unpredictable so it certainly behooves the canny player to dive in straight away with those short routes and see where the game takes you. The map features ferries, which are special routes linking two adjacent cities across a body of water. Locomotive cards must be played for each locomotive symbol on a ferry route, in addition to the usual cards of the route’s color. De miért is? Amíg az Újvilágban egyik bevált taktika bizonyos útvonalak befoglalása és ezzel az érzékenyebb lelkű mozdonytulajdonosok „megbántása”, addig az Öreg Kontinens már más füstök fújnak.

Again, the artwork on the cards is of a good standard. But when playing this game you will have to use the train cards from the original game and not the ones in the box. Harmadrészt, egyben legfontosabb változás, hogy megjelennek az állomások, amelyek segítségével egy-egy már befoglalt útvonalat tudsz felhasználni a kezedben lévő értékes menetvonalak teljesítéséhez. Összesen 3 állomás áll a rendelkezésedre ehhez. Elegáns módja a problémamegoldásnak. The UK side of the map throws technology into the mix. At the beginning of the game, players will only be able to build tiny routes in England. But the more they build as the game goes on, the more tech they’ll have available to use. The biggest change includes the addition of the Technology Cards. Players start the game without any technology, and without it, they can only claim 1 and 2 space routes in England. There are 30 destination cards in the game. Shuffle these and deal three to each player. All cards should be kept secret so other players don’t know where you’re heading.

Components

Advanced Technologies can be added to the game for a more competitive experience. Note that the number of Advanced Technologies is limited. The route scoring table is on the game board. There are also some cards in the game that show you how many points you score for each route length. These should be recorded by moving your scoring marker each time you claim a route. Draw Destination Cards

This makes an excellent choice if you’re looking for something that everyone can enjoy without having different playgroups end up fighting over rules which can sometimes take place when trying other titles out there on the market. In addition, since gameplay only takes around 30 minutes max per round this version also requires far less time investment than full-fledged versions do allow players more freedom about how they spend their free time on any given day! ComponentsAs you build routes, you’ll notice companies on the board. Whenever you connect, you get a share in that particular company. The player with the most shares in a company gets some bonus points. On the UK side of the board, technology plays its part. You start out as a small train tycoon in England. At first, you can only build routes that are one- or two-trains in length. But if you spend the wild train cards, you then ‘upgrade’ your tech! Then you can build longer routes. Then you can start extending your network into Wales, Scotland and Ireland. There’s even bonus cards up for grabs, with other means to score points! When taking extra destination cards you also need to consider where you are in the game. If you or one of your opponents are getting down to your last few trains then it might not be worth you taking extra destination cards, because the game will likely end in the next couple of turns. So timing is important with taking destination cards. Destination cards are kept secret until the end of the game and there is no limit to how many destination cards you can draw – just remember that you get points deducted for any that are unfinished! Game End These replace the bonus points given for the longest routes. At final scoring, each player receives points depending upon 2 factors: the number of players and the number of merchandise cards. The player with the most gets the most points and each subsequent player gets less. Dale Y: It’s hard to say which of the two maps in this expansion that I like more – but I think I’m leaning towards this one. I love the slow but steady buildup through the tech-tree, as well as the added strategy that you can employ – both by using your own technologies as well as realizing what technologies your opponents have (and don’t have).
