And what an insight into the family and definitely a good insight to why Amy's daughter is the way she is. Makes me realise that situations make people become complicated and though you do not have to like them maybe they are the way they are for a reason. As a grandparent to Katie's son Harvey, Amy has also become a prolific campaigner for families of children with disabilities - but there was one battle she had to fight alone. It documents how her life has been shaped by a tradition of strong women, by cycles of abuse which have been repeated through generations, and by the impact of fame and trauma on a close family unit.

Being a carer for your complex children’s needs is enough to make any upset cause a breakdown as you are always worrying, exhausted and protective at the same time. Amy achieved a successful career while raising three children who all earned success in various fields; but for one, Katie, fame was part of the bargain. I just hope she and the whole family get a break as I do think over the years they’ve had a lot of negativity unfairly many times too . To calculate the overall star rating and percentage breakdown by star, we don’t use a simple average. But submission is not a word in Amy’s vocabulary and so she refused to capitulate to her greatest challenge. I also agree with her comments about Peter Andre - I had the feeling as I was reading the section about him that lawyers had combed through it and probably pulled quite a lot out.

We also share information about your use of our site with our social media, advertising and analytics partners. Now the book is a best seller, not only does Amy have the last word but she’s also had the last laugh.Amy seems like a supportive caring parent and there is no doubt the family all care for one another. I can not even begin to imagine how anyone deals with the fact they know they are going to die and have to prepare for such events. I enjoyed this book a lot, it made me also see katie in a different light aswell, she is an amazing mum to harvey and as a mum to 2 disabled children I actually find her an inspiration. Amy struggles to understand why her daughter does the things she does and tries like any mother would to stand by her daughter even through some of the farcicle marriages she has been through.

Amy gave a balanced and honest viewpoint of everything in both hers and Katie's life, which was refreshing to read. This book is a heartfelt account of a mother's love for her daughter (and both of her other children), and I really hope they all find peace and the future is brighter. But submission is not a word in Amy's vocabulary and so she refused to capitulate to her greatest challenge. I do sympathise with Kate it’s not easy at all having a disabled child until you love it you can only assume I know this first hand and I’m glad she has a strong mother like Amy she needs that . The fact the proceeds of the book are going to charity demonstrates her selfless trait of always considering others before herself. From one Mother to another, Amy you are a remarkable woman, and if at the end of my life I can look back with the pride and the memories you have with your family, I will be one happy woman!
