Firstly, I have only really gotten into Sim Racing in the past couple months, so I consider myself a rookie. I would consider myself advanced in terms of PC understanding as it relates to configuring things like SimHub, telemetry (UDP etc). I am strictly a PC user.

I have been using the HF8 on both X-Plane & MSFS for a few weeks now and enjoying the extra later of realism. I personally feel the the pad has been developed around car games rather than flight sims, however I feel that NLR will put more effort into flight sims. I have made some recommendations to the dev team who will (I hope) take on board. In-game telemetry data* for PC games and sound output for console games, provide an immersive experience for racing, First Person Shooter (FPS), and flight. The great news is that this new HF8 pad is fully console compatible. When connected to a PC via USB, the HF8 utilises all eight haptic motors individually. Whereas when connected to a console, all eight motors activate simultaneously using in-game audio effects. Comfort is a mixed bag for me. I weigh in at 230lbs and can tell I’m no longer sitting in my Omega XL chair. I can feel the shakers and would say that it has reduced my comfort level of my seat. That being said, I only felt like this was an issue when I was trying to get it configured. Once working and racing… the immersion took me away and I was smiling. Please note that console players do not require the HFS software as the eight motors will work collectively through the audio output in games, music, or movies.
