Finally, while the 3050i delivers a deeper bass response thanks to the larger woofers, the Oberon 5 has a more immersive and dynamic soundstage that makes music listening a mesmerizing experience. Lol I'm sure you're right! Generic plugs seem cheap enough, at different diameters. Has been suggested I cut a hole in the middle...so might buy an extra pair! Yet there is something magical about the Oberon 5 sound that surprises given the very basic nature of the design. There is no crazy claim to fame on them. They aren’t claiming some new technology or alien material choices. It’s just sound engineering at its core done very well. Here is a scaled size comparison of these two speakers to give you an idea how their external dimensions compare: DALI Oberon 5 has external dimensions of (Height x Width x Depth) 32-3/4 x 7-15/16 x 10-7/8inch (832.0 x 202.0 x 277.0mm ).

Testing with EDM really brought out how musical they were. The treble extension and clarity were polished and combining that with deep bass extension (yes even when not paired with a subwoofer) meant they were energetic and lively. If you can, at least to explore your issues more thoroughly, try to follow the advice given by @BlueWizard above. I would also say, if you are happy with the sound when the rear ports are 'bunged' there is absolutely no problem with this other than getting over the potential psychological hurdle. The OBERON woofer features a wood fibre cone with a blend of fine grain paper pulp, reinforced with wood fibres, which creates a stiff, light-weight and well-behaving structure. In combination with a low-loss surround and spider suspension, this cone reproduces the micro details in the signal - unfiltered and with high accuracy. EASY TO POSITIONThe Oberon 5 comes with two 5.25-inch wood fiber woofers paired with a rather large 1.1-inch soft dome tweeter and is built using a patented coated magnet granule, the SMC (Soft Magnetic Compound), that drastically reduces noise in the magnet motor system. DALI Oberon 5 has a Bass Reflex type cabinet and a MDF/Wood-grain vinyl finish. Bass Reflex type loudspeakers (aka Ported, Vented or Reflex Port) have enclosures that uses a port, hole or vent cut into the cabinet. Ported designs are generally more efficient than the Sealed designs. Thank you for your valuable inputs .. I tend to agree on both points 1) that the Oberon 5 is producing a tight , clean and accurate bass as against my Dali Zensor 3 which doesn't produce as much clean but probably expansive bass and 2) the Marantz 7005 with roughly 65 Watts in 6 Ohms is probably not enough to drive the Oberon 5 ... One difference that should again be noted is that Z3 uses a 7 inch driver where as Oberon 5 uses two 5.5 inch drivers .. according to me , this alone might make a sizeable difference ..( I dont know ) PA20, PA21, PA22, PA23, PA24, PA25, PA26, PA27, PA28, PA29, PA30, PA31, PA32, PA33, PA34, PA35, PA36, PA37, PA38, PA39, PA40, PA41, PA42, PA43, PA44, PA45, PA46, PA47, PA48, PA49, PA50, PA51, PA52, PA53, PA54, PA55, PA56, PA57, PA58, PA59, PA60, PA61, PA62, PA63, PA64, PA65, PA66, PA67, PA68, PA69, PA70, PA71, PA72, PA73, PA74, PA75, PA76, PA77, PA78, PA79, PA80 Lean, attractive, interesting and unfussy: these words are equally apt for both the aesthetics and acoustics of these clever performers.

That's why I got a demo pair of Arias from a richer store. I figured it would either end my curiosity or trigger an expensive hobby. It did mostly the former. The difference is not worth basically 4.5x what I paid for my 5s. The Oberon 5 is smaller with a wider dispersion rate, making it easier to position in a room. When compared, the 3050i feels more accurate, whereas the Oberon 5 offers a more expressive and colored soundstage.I contend that lots of people have heard sound coming from two speakers, but only some have really heard the stereo effect. Many of you will know what I mean. You visit friends and their speakers are scattered around at odd angles and in odd places and topped with ashtrays or cup holders. There is no attention paid to equidistant spacing and on axis sound, and usually decor issues reign supreme. My usual preferred amplifier is a Unison ‘Simply Italy’, a low-wattage Class A EL34 tube design. As an experiment I substituted an Exposure 2010S V1. My reasoning was that many buyers would likely use a solid state integrated amplifier to drive these speakers – such as a NAD integrated, or a Rega Brio or the Heed Obelisk. The Exposure has a reputation for being light and airy, and the results were surprising. The Klipsch RP-5000F is a surprisingly affordable, power-efficient floor speaker that delivers excellent sound detail across its frequency spectrum. I was impressed with just how much sound you get for your money with the RP-5000F—even when tested against more expensive competitors. And it’s this value-to-sound equation that makes this floor-standing speaker particularly attractive.
