Over my years of playing, I have found salt to be too inconvenient to have around. Especially if I’m washing up in the shower. I have played with a few different soaps to see what cleans J-Lube off the fastest, and have I found that the fastest cleaners are also the ones you’d least want to use on your intimate bits. Case and point, the fastest cleaner I have found is a highly abrasive hand cleaner used for washing up after working with greasy machinery. This, of course, would be extremely painful to use on your sensitive parts, but for cleaning just your hands, it’s the best. In the search for the ideal middle ground, I have (comfortably) settled on Doctor Bronner’s Magic Soaps in the liquid form. It never seems to take any more than two good soapy passes to get all the slime off. Just pour the liquid soap into your hands and wash up the affected parts. Don’t use a washcloth or anything like that until after you’ve used your hands to get the lubricant off. The soap doesn’t leave any oily residue, so you’ll know exactly when the lube is gone. Salt does clean up faster, but it’s inconvenient and it will rapidly draw your attention to any small cuts on the surface of your skin. Repeat step 2 two or three times until all the J-lube powder has been added to the water. At this point the mixture will still be quite lumpy and uneven. Cover the pitcher with plastic film. Varma, S. R., et al. (2019). Invitro anti-inflammatory and skin protective properties of virgin coconut oil. So again, I’m no doctor, but I don’t see much risk of this type of issue under normal circumstances. Fisting might cause it, but even then I doubt you’d get much J-Lube past the point of the wound. You’d have other issues to worry about in a case like that. A large ruptured intestine is dangerous enough.

Slippery floors: Excess lube on floors can create a slipping hazard, which can lead to falls and injuries. If you’d like to read something more technical than what’s listed here, please view the “What is J-Lube, really?” section down below. J-lube is a unique type of lubricant that differs from other types like silicone-based or water-based lubricants. It’s important to understand the differences between these types of lubricants before deciding which one is right for you. Tips for storing J lube Dump the J-Lube into the mixing tube, gently add the water, and use the blender to blend the hell out of it for about 3 minutes, or until all lumps are gone. You may have to S-L-O-W-L-Y move the blender up and down in the mixing tube while it's running to get rid of any lumps and bumps.

Another choice is to use strong, clean alcohol of some kind. Alcohols aren’t the best when it comes to sterilization, but it’s certainly better than nothing. My new favourite sanitizer is a product called Steramine (also available from Nasco) which, when used as directed, even kills the HIV-1 virus. However, keep in mind that I am not a doctor, so you need to find what you feel safest doing and go with that. People who use Vaseline as a lubricant may trigger an infection. An older study found females who used Vaseline as a lube were more likely to develop bacterial vaginosis. There are ones made from food based ingredients, mainly some form of saccharide, that are commonly found in many things we eat: Xanthan gum, Guar gum, Carrageenen and the like. You can even buy them in most health food stores as raw ingredients. Many of them have been found to be irritating to the digestive system when eaten in larger quantities. Xanthan Gum is a known laxative and is excreted by bacteria grown in different mediums like corn, wheat or soy. If you have a food allergy it might warrant some investigation as to what it was grown in. Guar Gum comes from Guar beans, Locust Bean Gum from Carob beans, Carrageenan comes from Seaweed and is a suspected intestinal irritant and is banned from use in infant formula in the EU. If you use these lubes and are finding reactions consider you might simply have a food allergy to one of these ingredients. While J-lube is generally safe for most people, those with sensitive skin may experience irritation or discomfort. It’s important to test a small amount on a patch of skin before using it in larger quantities to ensure it’s safe for you to use. Is J-Lube safe to consume? J-lube is a versatile and cost-effective option for personal lubrication, but it’s important to take necessary precautions and use it in moderation.
