The setting is a decrepit Gothic city and its surroundings, attacked by all sorts of monsters and horrors because of the plague that you are investigating. Although it is a simple numbers game, the speed of an attack plays an important part, especially if you can kill an enemy faster than they can activate their special move. Worse still, various side missions can put you in dangerous situations, even something as simple as getting a civilian to a safehouse could end in an ambush of werewolves, or force you into a moral choice on whether or not to kill a child because you suspect they have been infected with the beast plague. The video game of Bloodborne represents this story and theme beautifully, but now you can experience it at the table. It further advances at the end of a single round (that is, once all hunters have taken their turns).
