NAES Corporation was contracted for the operation and maintenance services of the combined-cycle power plant. The other components in the project include a combustion turbine inlet evaporative cooler, evaporative cooling tower system, and sulphur hexafluoride (SF 6) emissions circuit breakers equipped with low-pressure alarms for leak detection. The other infrastructure facilities for the project include a 2,000KW emergency diesel generator along with a 422 horsepower (hp) emergency diesel fire water pump. While the emergency diesel generator will facilitate maintenance of plant loads during power outages or switchyards maintenance, the diesel-fired pump will be used during emergency fire incidents as well as for routine operations and testing. The battery will be integrated with the existing power infrastructure and will provide crucial support to the National Grid during times of peak demand. The battery is expected to go live in 2025, and it will be the longest-duration battery asset to be connected to the UK grid.

Dr. Jamie Pugh of Liverpool James Moore University is conducting a long term study to compare the benefits of natural ingredients for energy v man made.
