Just as a general rule, I’d like to be able to access ISO controls a lot easier on both my camera bodies, and flashes…But that’s a whole other discussion for a whole other article!

If you are into freeze-frame the SB-910 has a faster flash duration at the far end of the scale of 1/38,500 (might not make all that much difference). Featuring Nikon's versatile i-TTL (intelligent through-the-lens) metering for on camera or wireless flash control, the SB-910 can operate as a hot shoe mounted Speedlight, remote unit or wireless Commander. The SB-910's color correction filters are critical to get the color of the flash to match indoor lighting; without these filters, the flash light would look too blue indoors at home or in good restaurants, and too purple under fluorescent lights. Nissin incorporated AA mode into their semi-pro speedlights until recently, but now appear to have dropped it. In the OP’s second post, it sounds like he was merely speculating and at that time had not yet actually tried that combo.Yes - the package is expensive and yes you need a compatible camera for the RF WR10 support, but this is where Nikon Flash technology is heading. My ultimate change out is to replace my SB-910s and 700s with SB-5000s to ensure I only have one "menu" to remember, although they are all pretty much straightforward having a streamlined setup makes more sense.

Final Note: Nikon has traditionally taken great measures to maintain compatibility over the years and the SB 5000 is proof of their commitment, backward compatible with your older Nikon wireless optical flashes and forward-leaning into the RF technology when you are ready. If you want a compact camera that produces great quality photos without the hassle of changing lenses, there are plenty of choices available for every budget. The flash has special connectors for external power supply and control via a cable - for studio and serious professional photography - these are very important details. So, this is why many experienced photographers just assume that the SB910 is the only professional choice. The actual increases in size are modest, a half inch here, a half inch there, but taken together they mean that unit has just enough extra bulk to it that if your old packing routine was tight with an SB-800, it probably will need to be rethought for the SB-900. This Agreement constitutes the complete and exclusive agreement, oral or written, between you and Nikon. It so happened that I did not have instructions in the kit, which is a definite minus of the configuration. Since the second button is only rarely used (for Times in repeating flash, for example), I would have been tempted to place the flash head style into that button when the button isn't being used, as it isn't for TTL shooting.
