The brothers commissioned the statue of their mother in 2017 to mark the 20th anniversary of her death. However, it's far from the only way they have invoked her memory. Cinematic ... Full of intriguing anecdotes and sharp character observations, this is an entertaining and persuasive study of the royal family."— Publishers Weekly Prince Harry, 36, flew into London from his new home in California last Friday, before he underwent quarantine at Frogmore Cottage on the grounds of the royal estate at Windsor.Returning to the gardens of their childhood home was a poignant moment for the brothers and came at a time when the royal family is under intense pressure. It's an established fact that James Patterson is a very talented writer, so when he lends his skills to a Windsor biography I'm already expecting a good read. He didn't disappoint. The book begins as Princess Diana first gets romantically involved with Prince Charles, and ends after the death of Prince Philip and The Queen moving permanently to Windsor Castle in 2022. It doesn't cover anything about The Queen's Platinum Jubilee or her death in September because the book was just released in mid August. There is no " Princess Diana"...by British law, as a no blood royal , she was Princess Charles of Wales during her marriage and Diana, Princess of Wales upon their divorce.

The pair seemed at ease during the event, and were filmed smiling and laughing with other attendees. It sits in the sunken gardens of Kensington Palace, one of Diana's favourite spots, which has undergone a nearly-two year redesign by garden designer Pip Morrison. William and Harry's father, Charles, the heir to the throne, did not join them at the event Thursday, nor did their wives. On the day of the funeral of Diana, princess of Wales—a sunny Saturday in September 1997—there was one small item that broke a million hearts in a city, and a nation, already awash in grief. A bouquet of white freesias sat atop her coffin as it rode on a gun carriage to Westminster Abbey. Nestled in the flowers was an envelope with a single word—“MUMMY”—printed in a child’s hand. Walking behind were its authors, princes William, 15, and Harry, 12, accompanied by their father, Prince Charles, their grandfather, Prince Philip, and their embittered uncle, Charles Spencer, Diana’s brother. At the time, those of us covering the funeral, and millions more watching on London’s streets and on televisions around the world, wondered what these wounded young lads could possibly have said to make sense of the tragedy that befell their mother, and the circus of grief it spawned. The interview, one of a series the prince is giving, was timed around the publication of his autobiography, Spare, which will be published on Tuesday but a copy of which the Guardian was able to see ahead of time last week.

Both brothers have often spoken of the trauma Diana's death caused when they were aged 15 and 12, and how it affected their mental health for years afterwards.
