Dark? Ehhhh… there is a guy that gets slapped around and drugged by the FMC before he dies. Another vengeance kill because he killed the FMC’s family. The MMC skirts the truth of his profession as a contractor. But, dark in the sense that most mafia books are dark? No. The book is told in dual points of view via dual narration. It was narrated by Maxine Mitchell and Joe Arden who both do a great job. Maxine has a feminine voice which sounds perfect for Steph. She is very good at sounding nervous at times and strong at times and she is very good at having different voices for male and female characters. Joe Arden has a great deep and gravelly voice which I really like. Sarah has no idea the can of worms she has upended in her attempt to take down the man that shattered her life but finding the man brings her up close and personal with the darker side of vengeance. Hunter is a contractor whose target is the woman with whom he will fall in love but a woman searching for the same thing as our story line hero. Vigilante justice or an avenging angel, Sarah knows only that she must exact and impose her own form of punishment against a killer who shows no remorse for the things he has done. I haven’t cried in ten years. Not in sorrow. Not in pain. And definitely not in the overwhelming happiness currently sinking through every inch of my being.

Safe. Protected. I was supposed to get the morning after pill and forgot in the mad scramble to regain control in my life. “I’m not pregnant.” Hunter is a journey of twists, turns and suspense. This is a new Eden Summers style and I love it! Hunter is a home run! Hunter’s on a mission for information. She’s on a mission of revenge. When their missions collide and the attraction is undeniable, all bets are off and names are not important. Now he makes her and her mission his. Unexpected is now the name of the game. A mission you don’t want to miss! We are reintroduced to Hunter and Sarah (Hunter #1), as well as Keira’s brother Cole Tarian. Cole’s story line is next.

This time I don’t glare. I can barely hold in a grin. His eyes are gleaming at me, taunting in their memory. I crumpled in her arms. I actually had to fight not to sob like a little bitch. And as I explained my unworthy reasons for stealing her car, she filled my belly with coffee and homemade apple cake. She’s been doing the same thing every Sunday for the last three weeks.

No. But there’s always a first, and I have a special feeling I’m going to be a special kind of mistake.” He's harsh and aggressive and that's on a good day, filled with Love and lust and fire getting what he wants comes easily to him, feelings are not something that comes into your mind when you think about torian he doesnt have time for it but Damn I have all the feels after reading this. This is such a great collection of books! If you love romantic suspenses, then you will not want to miss out on these fast-paced romances.

Nextly, this is a romantic suspense in every sense. For as on-the-edge-of-your-seat it is, it's as equally holy-smokes-these-two-have-sizzling-chemistry.

Table of Content

Torian was groomed by his father at an early age. He's nothing like his sisters who were looked after by their mother. Lately Torian has been out of control, more agitated than normal. There's a reason for this. His father is the reason. There once was a time when he idolized his father, Luther, and felt he could do no wrong. Luther's business associates have taken him down an even more depraved, sadistic path and Torian can no longer sit by and watch him destroy the family name. The story itself felt very rushed. One minute you are getting the plot then the next Hunter becomes obsessed out of nowhere. From there it is him being nice to her and her being cold and sarcastic but can’t help but want a “distraction”. Which those distractions were more high school hookups than obsessed hitman spicy. I walk past him to the door, then pause to glance over my shoulder. This time, the tweak of his mouth isn’t a threat or a taunt. It’s pure elation. Undiluted relief.

The narration by Maxine Mitchell and Joe Arden is fantastic. Love both these narrators just enhanced the experience. The heroine (whose name is purposely being omitted) was one of my favorites. She put on a tough exterior, but her internal thoughts of wanting to seek comfort from Hunter were beautifully done. Because they were believable. I consider myself an independent woman, but I love the comfort of my husband when I need it, and I think a lot of current romance novels portray wanting male comfort as a bad thing, which I do not agree with.

Customer reviews

The heroine: Steph (a.k.a. Emma Stephens) - she hunts bad men who are ignored by the law and exacts retribution against them. We first see her reeling in a man named Daniel who likes to beat and strangle prostitutes. She drugs him with rohypnol and ties him up to get her retribution. Though in reality she is looking for information and trying to find someone from her past. Eden has steeped out of her usual MO before and its been divine, but THIS >>!! HUNTER !!<< is a whole other level. She just went supernova and its TO DIE FOR !!!! stars—TORIAN is the third instalment in Eden Summer’s contemporary, adult HUNTING HER romantic, mafia style, suspense series. This is Cole Torian, and FBI agent Anissa Fox’s story line. There’s something about him that demands attention. Something dark, like I’m used to, and also something promising, which is entirely new to me. I suddenly feel like I want to climb his broad chest and ride his face for hours. Not a good idea.”
