I found the art to be detailed and intricate, but not so much that it was overwhelming. It made the fight scenes and emotional moments that much better, which is exactly what you want from graphic novels! The art is just as much a part of the story as anything you're reading, and Tatsuya Endo deftly weaves the two together to create an excellent story that is elevated by the lovely and fascinating visuals, and smooth writing.

Then there is the art, which is also very good. The style is clean and polished, though still capable of capturing the ugly, depressing world the series is set in. The layouts are well-constructed with everything flowing from scene to scene without issue. The designs on the characters are good, along with the art being incredibly capable of bringing their big personalities to life through their wild actions and expressive faces. Some of the best of this comes from Anya as she looks wistfully between her “parents” and the world around her. The action is intense and the visual comedy is fantastic. All around, great looking art for a great story. The Verdict Introduction Arc • Admissions Interview Arc • Eden Beginnings Arc • Secret Police Arc • Stella Star Arc • Doggy Crisis Arc • Midterm Exams Arc • Campbelldon Tennis Arc • Imperial Scholars Mixer Arc • Cruise Adventure Arc • WISE Arc • Friendship Schemes Arc • Red Circus Arc • Mole Hunt Arc SPY x FAMILY: Family Portrait • SPY x FAMILY Official Fanbook: EYES ONLY • SPY x FAMILY: Operation Coloring -FAMILY- • SPY x FAMILY Workbook: Anya's First English Master spy Twilight is unparalleled when it comes to going undercover on dangerous missions for the betterment of the world. But when he receives the ultimate assignment—to get married and have a kid—he may finally be in over his head! The main characters are all interesting in very distinctive ways (which you can probably grasp from the synopsis) and it makes for an incredibly captivating group of individuals, that have really entertaining and intriguing interactions. Twilight is a highly mysterious perfectionist, that is so good at his job, no one actually knowns who he really is. Yor is strong, intelligent, and highly capable, but somewhat socially awkward and shy. While Anya is the cutest, most outgoing, and kind little telepath you will ever meet.

The story-line is engaging and entertaining with great illustrations. I am looking forward to the next volume. Honestly, I really enjoy this book. I hope I can get my hands on the rest of the volumes because this book is so darn good! Such a great read! Not one to depend on others, Twilight has his work cut out for him procuring both a wife and a child for his mission to infiltrate an elite private school. What he doesn’t know is that the wife he’s chosen is an assassin and the child he’s adopted is a telepath! The Breakdown Meanwhile, Yor Briar despite being an assassin is a lovely woman who dreams of romance. Twilight's first connection with her is built on deception where he claims he wants to fulfill his late wife's desires, much as she wants to deceive her brother. Yor never tells her "husband" about her assassin activities, and Twilight keeps Yor in the dark about his genuine motivation for enrolling Anya in the school. The father, code name: Twilight, is THE best spy in Westalis. His newest mission is to maintain peace between two neighboring countries, Westalis and Ostania (basically just West Germany and East Germany during the Berlin Wall). And to achieve this, he needs to get married and have a child within 7 days.

Anya is an orphan child, who was living in an orphanage until Twilight took her in as his daughter for the mission. Anya has the ability to read minds, that ability really makes her poor as much as it makes her wonderful and special. Anya is the cutest person in the story ever ahhhhh how cute and cheerful she is. This family is just full of secrets and I can't wait for the truth to be revealed. You'll notice despite trying to shield themselves from their identity, they still couldn't hide their true colors. This start of the series is just a strike of humor, plot twist, and violence, blended perfectly together so that there will be no dull moment when you read this. The art style- I didn't expect this, but I'm obsessed with this art style!! 😍😍 I love the attention to detail and just the way it is drawn just works really well for me. Super excited to see more of it in the next volumes! 🙌Spy X Family has become a recent big hit over in Shonen Jump, bringing with it a unique flavor to the long-running manga magazine. It just recently got released in volume form in America, so let’s dive in. The Lowdown The characters are well defined and the artwork fit the story well. There’s over-the-top action, emotional breakdowns, and humor in this cold war espionage fantasy. I was bothered by the idea that a woman should be married by a certain age, but I know some people still think this in the twenty-first century. I'm a big fan of movies and anime where the characters are hiding who they really are. I love the tension of "Will they be discovered?" and the anguish of them wanting to reveal their secrets and not being able to. Spy x Family basically follows Twilight, a spy who needs to get a fake wife and child for a mission. Anya and Yor begin to pose as his family- but what Twilight doesn't know is that Anya (the child) is a telepath and Yor (the wife) is an assassin!
