It just sounds like someone has played a bloke with an okay singing voice snippets of popular music movements of the past and told him to head into a studio and record an album which emulated all that music. Things is, I struggle to hear even a shred of originality on Sunny Side Up. I mean the bloke doesn’t have an awful voice, but it just sounds like he’s been given a lyric sheet and told to sing - there’s very little here that he sounds emotionally invested in on any level.
