Description

I think this is most because of the main character who had pretty much stupid behavior towards the main heroine. At about the same time, Stephen's murder case heats up as more victims go missing, and it seems that the disappearances may be linked to Jenna's errant student. you will already know the formula and just have to plug in different characters into the roles along side a new story line. Stephen's priest friend, Mike was a good sounding board for Stephen's problems with both his boys and Jenna.

Since then, Stephen has struggled with balancing being a single father with being a good cop, but in the past month, his oldest son, Brad, who had always been a good kid, has suddenly become rebellious. If you enjoy intense, page turning suspense with a touching romance included, you will enjoy this book. May contain moderate to high sexual tension which could include passionate clinches that end in cut scenes and/or extremely mild love scenes with virtually no details.

Finding the murderer is his sole focus but it doesn't help that his teenage son, Brad, is behaving strangely.

This was much better than the first one and that is saying something because I already liked that one A LOT. He resents his father, he's stopped trying with his school work and he is letting his life go to ruin. It's her mindful attitude regarding Stephen's son, Brad that led to her meeting Stephen in the first place.

That seemed like a rather dumb move for such a smart man, and I couldn't help but side with her when she temporarily broke off their relationship because of it. With two german shepherds to keep her company after the tragic death of her fiance, who she still mourns for, Jenna is struggling with control on her life. We briefly met Agent Thatcher in the previous book and as a mother, it was so good to see how little Nicky Thatcher and his family were dealing with the aftermath. The mystery was dual pronged and nicely layered, and while the perpetrator of the slaughter of innocent girls maybe isn't the hardest thing to figure out early on, the big picture is much less so and the story provided enough twists and turns and surprises to keep me invested throughout.Towards the end I had a good idea who the killer was, but the author still managed to surprise me with a twist or two. While this book was well written and for the most part read smoothly, there were a few places that it dragged a bit or had typos that pulled me temporarily from the story. Das Buch hatte das Potenzial ein wirklich spannender Thriller zu werden, durch persönliches Geplänkel allerdings ganz schön eingebüßt.
