I’m not sure why this has such a long dislike bar, but I wore this in my 20’s, I’m in my 40s now, anyway, I wore it in my 20s when I worked promotions at Biketober Fest in Daytona Beach Florida and let me tell you, every man that came up to me remarked how good I smelled. I’m not awesome at picking out specific notes but the main impression I get is clean, floral, and a bit fruity. I can imagine a woman with a short feathered haircut, in a pink skirt suit with shoulder pads going into the office. So its no suprise that my very first fragrance that I fell in love with at age 17 was Samsara by Guerlain which became my HG.

Canadian businesswoman Florence Nightingale Graham launched her own cosmetics brand in New York City in 1912, under her coined business name Elizabeth Arden. She never held back, always spoke her mind, always had at least a V6 under the hood, and was always glamorous. I deeply disliked Red Door for years, my grams loves it but for my it was nothing but an old lady jasmine perfume.Unlike Boucheron and Poison, though, Red Door has a big, lush, almost liquor like rose, and it might be sweeter than both of them, although not in a candy or gourmand way.

The vintage version I loved, it was so warm and rich and blended beautifully but the new reformulated ones with the above image are very disappointing.

My point is definitely try the vintage original to get a proper impression, it is very powerful, it's a love or hate, the new versions are seriously one big disgrace to the true vintage classic Red Door. I received this as a free sample from purchasing other perfumes and praise Lord, I'm truly a sucker for jasmine and ylang-ylang! Overall, for me this is a tuberose scent with vintage vibes, more in the opening, and excellent performance. My 30ml bottle is a rectangle, the cap and bottle are in one shape and it's a see through red colour. A suitable alternative if you like the general make-up of Red Door but find it just too much is Charlie Red.

The pain of these experiences combined, pales in comparison to the pain of being exposed to this perfume. The carnation plays second fiddle to the rose to me, but it does seem to be lending a strange bitterness to this perfume. Personally, I consider this a date fragrance which is best applied about 60 minutes before arrival of your escort. This to me captures a moment in time in the early 90s when the 80s were still a big style influence. How often do we not even give a new fragrance a chance, simply based on the product's packaging design or marketing plan?

I think a young Twitter cool girl type (y’know, someone who listens to Red Scare and idolizes Lily Rose Depp) could easily pull this off.

I wore it off and on for long time, and I have to be in the mood for this sort of scent since I usually like gourmands. ounce spray bottle of the EDT (made in 2019); I haven’t been able to find the EDP yet, so my review is based on the former two. What’s most shocking to me is the brightness of it all: I associate these notes with cold-weather heaviness, but that isn’t Red Door at all.i do notice with stronger floral scents people think it gives an older vibe, that's not the case for me. I should say that that's how it used to smell, I have not smelled it recently so I don't know if reformulations have been made.
