the series may understand, there are so many strands of subplots woven into these two "basic" plotlines that it may have been a fool's errand to Summers span decades. Winters can last a lifetime. And the struggle for the Iron Throne has begun. It will stretch from the south, where heat breeds plots, lusts and intrigues; to the vast and savage eastern lands; and all the way to the frozen north, where an 800-foot wall of ice protects the kingdom from the dark forces that lie beyond. Kings and queens, knights and renegades, liars, lords, and honest men...all will play the “Game of Thrones.” Character Profiles (HD, 31 min) - Fifteen video profiles detailing the show's sprawling cast of characters are included, viewable together or separately. Each profile features on set footage and a brief interview with the actor who plays the character as they discuss their role and place within the show. I also tried them into a PS5 and they perfectly worked. They were impeccable, no scratches nor anything. Released: 2nd November 2020. Based on the series of books "A Song Of Ice And Fire" by George R.R. Martin, Game Of Thrones follows kings and queens, knights and renegades, liars and noblemen as they vie for power. In a land where summers span decades and winters can last a lifetime, trouble is brewing. Two powerful families are engaged in a deadly cat-and-mouse game for control of the Seven Kingdoms of Westeros. As betrayal, lust, intrigue and supernatural forces shake the four corners of the Kingdoms, their bloody struggle for the Iron Throne will have unforeseen and far-reaching consequences.

but even relatively quieter moments in both Winterfell and King's Landing often offer nicely designed surround activity, with both washes of sound Audio Commentaries, Deleted and Extended Scenes, Behind-the-scenes featurettes and much more from all 8 seasons! underlying quality issues are at times arguably only exacerbated by the higher resolution of the 4K UHD discs, I have to say my "underwhelment" (and Game of Thrones is a great television drama. It’s a series I actually resisted starting until the original Season One Blu-ray release. Then I ended up watching all ten episodes in a single sitting, and became a loyal viewer for the remainder of the series’ run. As such, I’m pleased to report that HBO has done Game of Thrones proud on Ultra HD. The image is improved, the sound is improved, and this is the most complete and comprehensive collection of extras to date. If you’re a fan of the show and you’ve made the leap to 4K, this set is a fine and worthy upgrade. It’s not cheap, so get it on sale if you can. Nevertheless, this release is very highly recommended. Of course, given the story's vast scope and extensive cast, some characters are marginalized from time to time (I actually forgot the youngest Stark child even existed until he showed up again in the last few episodes) but to the writers' credit, almost everyone gets their moment to shine. Dialogue is poetic and lyrical while still remaining believable (and wonderfully crass when it wants to be). While the show is full of grand, dramatic beats, the series' quieter moments are equally memorable. Simple exchanges, like a heart to heart between the King and Queen, or a drinking game with Tyrion and his companions, prove to be just as revealing and emotionally resonant as any of the show's louder scenes. Then of course, there is the end of episode nine, "Baelor." I dare not spoil the scene for any who might be unaware of its content, but suffice to say, it ranks among the most artfully staged, beautifully realized, emotionally devastating sequences in any show, period. The writers and performers take classic archetypes and breathe new life into them, allowing the characters to become so much more than mere "Imps" or "Bastards." While many fantasy stories rely heavily on the concept of good versus evil, in Westeros there are no true heroes or villains, keeping the various conflicts cast in a morally ambiguous cloud of grey.Game of Thrones: Reunion Special:Watch the cast reunite to chat about their experience and most cherished memories. This is hosted by super fan Conan O’Brien.

Episode Three with commentary by Director Miguel Sapochnik, Director of Photography Fabian Wagner and Camera Operator Sean Nevertheless, if the ending falls somewhat short of expectations, the journey to get there is thrilling. Game of Thrones isn’t afraid to throw you a surprise or two each season, sometimes several. This is a series where it feels like anything can happen… and that is a rare and wonderful thing indeed.

Customer reviews

by Sandy C. 3 years ago Game of Thrones may be over on HBO, but your watch continues with Game of Thrones: The Complete Series on Blu-ray and The Complete Collection. Here’s what to expect from both sets. As for a review of the show, it is one of the greatest pieces of television ever produced. This show is about the tragic nature of mankind, which really could be said about all Grimdark Fantasy. This isnt comfort fiction, this is a realistic picture on the psychological nature of mankind. Its not always pretty, as reality is not always fair, or as glorious as most fantasy or fiction would have you believe, but it paints a much more grounded & harsh picture of what its like to be human, but within this amazing medieval fantasy world.
