Description

Noble heavy infantry march for the front, led from the skies by a Knight Draconis on a noble Stormdrake mount, accompanied by a fellow Stormdrake Guard. The stone-skinned cultists of the Jade Obelisk are on a mission to deface every statue and eviscerate every still-beating heart in the Gnarlwood, an act of desecration with which the stealthy scaled guardians in the Hunters of Huanchi take umbrage. We’ve also broken down this years offerings from the 41st millennium, so check out that article as well! It’s almost time to wrap it up with another cracking Christmas, and there’ll be no half measures – more festivities, more Battleforces, and more Warhammer than ever. This is huge because starting in 2016, there were only eight battleforces altogether for both AoS and Warhammer 40k total!White Dwarf issues 320 and 321 get added to the Warhammer Vault this week – perfect reading with a hot beverage. I’m eager to grab the Kruleboyz set, as every model in the pack is one I don’t have or one I could always do more of (more Gutrippaz for the ranks!

However, after seeing your point and cost rundown of each, I may also use this as an excuse to launch into Gloomspite Gitz! This year, GW is releasing 7 boxes for Age of Sigmar and, quite frankly, we’d be pleased if we got any of these under our Christmas Tree. This stalwart band of warriors are capable of taking on much larger forces, each of them more than a match for several times their number in lesser soldiers. Then, the hero units have just enough new details on them to keep pushing the new painter, whilst simultaneously not being so unfamiliar as to be daunting. The heavy lifting of this box is done by it’s two big bosses, and the Gutrippaz and Boltboyz are some nice bonuses. These updated boxes don’t include Fighter or Ability cards – all the rules you need are now available as a free download. With the Dryads and Revenants as your battleline you just need to spend your savings on some Kurnoth units and you’ll round out a solid army.

The Stormcast Eternals Thunderstrike Spearhead battleforce is an excellent collection of miniatures, perfectly suited to expanding the force included in the Dominion boxed set, or any of the Warhammer Age of Sigmar starter sets - alternatively the strikeforce offers an interesting combination of units that can be used to start an entirely new army.

There’s a bit of everything going on, which is either a good think of bad thing depending on what you’re looking for.

Another cool set with a big feature piece model giving a nice selection of different models from the Nighthaunt range.

The Squiqalanche consists of a Loonboss on Giant Cave Squig , two Mangler Squigs (who can be ridden by Loonbosses ), 10 Squig Hoppers (who can be assembled as Boingrot Bounders), and a 12-strong Squig Herd . The Prince of Decay has reaped a heavy toll on the Galaspar system, his brutality astounding even the Imperium. The Great Horned Rat has smiled on his followers this holiday season, with a box that’s not only the second best for savings, but its a really solid start to a Skaven army (or strong choice to expand an existing force).
