There are also cool additional features to consider. Our favorite power bank has a built in charging plug so it can go right into a wall outlet. Some power banks have data about your charging devices. Some are just super small and cute. Which power bank is the best quality?

You can buy the Tylt Bottle with just a power bank attached, but our review sample from AT&T had the full wireless charging treatment. It's easy to set up a phone to charge while studying, working out, or working away from home: all places we take a water bottle and need a full phone battery. Most power banks now use a USB-C port to recharge, although some models will have a micro-USB port as well to ensure compatibility with older chargers. Don’t worry if you don’t have the required cable, as one will usually be provided in the box.

Should You Buy the Anker PowerCore 10000?

We were able to pull 5273 mAh out of this battery with the discharge rate set to 2.4 amps, which is about 53% of its stated capacity. This improved a bit when we dropped it to a 1 amp discharge rate, but we were still only able to get about 64% of the claimed capacity out of it.

Speaking of that wall plug, it's the most useful feature ever on a power bank. Some power banks come with a built in USB-C cord, but this Anker comes with a two-prong power outlet plug. That makes it a wall charger as well as a power bank, and the utility can't be understated.Dimensions: 10.39 x 6.91 x 2.01 cm | Weight: 223.11g | Capacity: 10,000mAh | Ports: USB-C (input and output) and wireless charging Brand Reliability: When it comes to portable power banks, it's essential to choose a trustworthy brand. Brands like Anker have a solid reputation for producing safe and high-quality products, ensuring your devices are charged efficiently and without any risks. Read the Instructions: Take a few minutes to read the user manual that comes with your power bank. Familiarize yourself with its features, usage instructions, and safety precautions. This will help you make the most of your new gadget while keeping yourself and your devices safe. If you have a newer Android phone, or the latest iPhone 15 models, you'll want a power bank with faster charging speeds to get your battery full faster. Charging speed is measured in wattage, and the iPhone 15 can charge just a bit faster than 15W, while the Galaxy S23 Ultra can charge up to 45W. Charge it Fully: Plug in your power bank and let it charge fully before using it. This ensures that it's ready to provide a reliable power source when you need it.

With a power bank, though, you can always get a recharge – even when you’re far from home. In fact, with bigger power banks, you can get away for a weekend or go camping and still keep your phone juiced up. And it’s not only smartphones that can benefit. Tablets, digital cameras and Bluetooth speakers can often do with a top-up, and a decent power bank is a must-have accessory if you love playing on a Nintendo Switch. We'd recommend avoiding anything below 5,000mAh, though, as they'll barely recharge today's smartphones. Look for between 5,000 and 10,000mAh. If you care more about convenience than speed, wireless charging is very much the way to go – and a growing number of power banks support it. Just place your smartphone on the integrated wireless pad, and you can recharge without connecting any cables. There will be a hit on charging speeds, so you’ll be limited to 7.5W or 10W, but that’s not a big issue if you don’t need to recharge in a flash. As a bonus, we’re now seeing Magsafe-friendly chargers that will clamp onto an iPhone or a ring inside an iPhone case, meaning you can recharge your iPhone even while you’re using it. How we test power banks You can always buy an extra cable to charge up your power bank, but we just find it useful to only have one type of cable, so if your phone supports USB-C charging you'll likely want to find a power bank that supports the same. That app is essential because there's a Find My feature built into the battery. It doesn't work like an AirTag over UWB, it's only Bluetooth, but it's useful if you misplace your battery in your office (or you have multiple batteries, like I do). Anker’s exclusive PowerIQ and VoltageBoost technologies combine to ensure the fastest possible charge up to 2.4 amps.
