If you are attending Pichon's event at Bath you could doodle in style of Tom Gates, print your artwork and bring it to the Bath Festival where the author will highlight some of the best drawings. Tom Gates is a British series of fiction and graphic books written by Liz Pichon taking the form of an illustrated diary written by the eponymous schoolboy. The Wrinklies are keen on giving presents AND they're planning a family outing which is going to be EPIC! He doesn’t like (much) his grumpy teenage sister Delia, his school frenemy Marcus and his snore-bore-ing teacher Mr Fullerman (who at least provides an opportunity for Tom to indulge in his favourite pastime – doodling).

This is the place to learn about all the brilliant things happening for Tom Gates — 2022 is an epic year for Tom, his family and friends! Tom's doing everything possible to stay out of trouble but somehow he's got THREE sad faces on the school achievement chart! This book is VERY important because it contains BISCUITS, BANDS and all my (doodled) plans (top secret of course) to make us global superstars and DogZombies the BEST band in the world. Get your child to draw different food stuffs onto paper, cut them out and stick them onto the beard. And in his hilariously wacky journal, you’ll find all sorts of comic craziness to make you groan with glee! He has a funny way of looking at things and does the BEST impression of a JELLY wobble ever (life skills).

Finish the look with a pair of glasses or add some Wally- or Wenda-ish hair with Book Aid's Where's Wally costume templates. Thank you for providing a much-needed service for parents and one which really represented good value for money. While it may seem that World Book Day dressing up was an invention devised purely to send parents into a frenzy, kids really do adore the chance to don a costume and take a more detailed look at their favourite book characters. She likes to wear sunglasses all the time to block out the world and anything that annoys her - like Tom.Make rabbit ears from brown triangles fastened to elastic, so you child can wear them as a headband.

He attends Oakfield Primary School where he is in Mr Fullerman's Class 5F, under headmaster Mr Keen. They need to look dirty and dishevelled, so have them wear old clothes with splodges of brown paint that looks like dirt. Dad makes Tom laugh a lot, especially when he wears odd clothes or costumes and picks Tom up from school (it’s happened a few times). The campaign introduces a colourful range of Tom Gates-branded daywear, nightwear and accessories from licensing partners Poetic Brands, Aykroyds and RoyLowe supported by two weeks of related promotional activity and support.

Tom and his friends pop up and interact throughout each episode, while Liz Pichon shares her tips on how to draw the characters and how to get creative at home. Get some yellow wool and make two very long plaits by cutting about 20 pieces of wool very long and dividing into two, then plaiting by tying each with a bobble at the top.Remember that you’re not doing a GCSE in Making the Most Enviable Costume, you’re helping your child enjoy this fun day with their classmates. We’ve seen an amazing surge in popularity for the brand over recent years – kids everywhere are taking up creative writing and drawing like never before. If there is a specific area of learning your child needs support with, our packs offer information, advice and plenty of engaging practical activities.
