As you all know on new lps the static stops the record from slipping out the inner so this records dirt lines and grease marks was direct from the factory in that condition. As soon as I heard this was being released I knew I had to get a copy, especially as I had picked up the "Accumulator" white label and was blown away by the "Ambient / Dub Version". In 2010, Neil Barnes reignited the Leftfield name, and went on to release an acclaimed album (Alternative Light Source) touring the world with the full live band. Just clock lead single 'Pulse' and you'll know everything you need to about the level they're operating at these days.

Honest, forthright, unapologetic and unique in its aesthetic, the new album marks another milestone in Leftfield’s timeline. Thunderous dub and crisp ambient highs—a wide sonic palette awash in soul-nourishing layers of aural color. Exploring themes around love, acceptance, diversity and healing, the album was written before and after two extremely challenging and transformative periods in the life of Leftfield’s Neil Barnes. Neil Barnes brought the group back in 2010 and went on tour, recorded a new album and generally pushed Leftfield back into the limelight.

Their 2017 tour featured 7 sold out UK shows (including 2 X Brixton Academies), a sold out world tour and various festival headlines. While the rest of the album retreats to a more conventional hard bop sound, Morgan's compositions are forward-thinking and universally solid. To be quite honest, I wasn't too blown away with the original version of This Is What We Do, but this remix album, on the other hand, is, surprisingly, one of my absolute favorite releases from Leftfield - a smooth, deep and blissed-out trip which I enjoy from start to finish.

Leftfield (originally comprised of Neil Barnes and Paul Daley), have been at the cutting edge of dance music since the 1990s, releasing albums that have become some of the most influential electronic records of all time, with their debut LP Leftism being widely regarded as one of the most boundary-pushing electronic LPs ever released. Products labelled '*item fulfilled by Exertis on behalf of hmv' will be supplied to you directly by Exertis via their approved couriers. The album contains guest spots from musicians not associated with dance music at the time such as John Lydon from Public Image Ltd. This Is What We Do, is an eclectic long-player that embodies the core optimistic ethos of the iconic dance music act. Their last tour (in 2017) featured 7 sold out UK shows (including 2 X Brixton Academies), a sold out world tour and various festival headlines.

Henderson makes a major contribution to the album, especially on Totem Pole, where his solos showed off his singular style, threatening to upstage Morgan, who is also fairly impressive here. In 2010, Neil Barnes reignited the Leftfield name, and went on to release an acclaimed new album (Alternative Light Source) touring the world with the full live band. After reaching a new audience through Idris Elba's Gucci ad, this is their 4th album in their 28 year history. In the edit page, go to the 'Metadata' tab and add your Juno artist, label or release page for listeners to purchase your release / releases.
