Drew me sorprendió muchísimo. The Temporary Roomie: A bestselling Romantic Comedy ? A hilarious romance of enemies turned lovers as seen on TikTok The pranks, as much as they should have been hilarious, they weren't and the proposal prank was so messed up on different levels. This is honestly so stupid. AND I just couldn't wrap my head around the fact that Jessie was pregnant because yes while I do understand the mood swings pregnant women have, she was basically another immature child. jessie is in serious need of a favor: she needs a place to stay while her house is being fixed. drew is in the same situation: he needs a fake date for an event with his colleagues. roomies and fake dating who hate each other.. what could go wrong? the house becomes a battlefield of pranks that, inevitably, will blur the barriers between hate and love. I really wanted to love this book, but I just didn’t. The Cheat Sheet by Sarah Adams was one of my favourite books of last year. It was hilarious and I remember having a smile on my face the entire time I read it. However, for me, the Temporary Roomie completely missed the mark. If you are just starting out with reading, I think you may like this but for me personally, I have been craving more depth in the books I read, and TTR just did not have that. I didn’t feel the spark between the two main characters, and they just seemed to handle everything very immaturely. I didn't like the characters and therefore couldn't get into the storyline. It just wasn’t for me.

Drew Marshall may have let me move into his spare bedroom while my house is being renovated, but don’t think for one second his kindness comes without strings. Big, ugly, fake relationship strings. Okay I'm gonna repeat myself but please, just please stop showing the characters as enemies.... when one moment they're like "you're my enemy!" And playing silly pranks on each other and the next "Oh I love him". Can I ask ask authors to make the enemies seem more like enemies and not just 'oh you did this? Now I'm gonna hate you' nah that's a misunderstanding... and I find it ironic that she calls Drew 'selfish' but then she is the one who is the 'selfish' one. Adams has an incredible talent of creating a story with layers. On the surface, the reader sees the humor, but as the coatings are stripped away, a raw vulnerability is discovered, treating the reader to a gamut of emotions, with love and amusement prevailing. No es un mal libro, puede que el problema fuese muy personal porque no soporto a la gente que es así de niña a la edad que tiene y más encima esperando un bebé.this book is so wholesome and hilarious. I've been so obsessed with drew and jessie since the off limits rule! in this book, jessie needs to stay somewhere while her house got renovated and drew also needs someone to be his fake date in an upcoming event, so what next? they agreed to help each other anddddd it's a war of pranks between them. (love it) Once again I'm never gonna hate anyone who enjoyed this book, it's their choice but I'm just too determined to think that now her books are definitely not for me. I just can't deal with the pettiness and the way the characters are not really adults okay? They're more like children advertised as adults. When pregnant Jessie needs a place to stay, Drew's mostly empty house is the perfect solution, but once again, it's an all-out war of unbelievable pranks that had me gasping, laughing, and even swooning. They've each met their match and it's game on. Only kissing, but lots of suggestive language about what they wanted to do. It wasn’t written poorly in my opinion.

The Temporary Roomie by Sarah Adams | Waterstones

If you want a laugh out loud, full of fun rom com. Then go no further. You just found the right book for you.

It seems like everything that could cause Jessie to detest her best friend’s brother Drew happens. He’s an attractive doctor who she knows she will fall for if she only lets herself feel. But after being abandoned by her father, her mom passing away when she was young and the father of her unborn baby high tailing it away from her, Jessie is not in a place to trust any guy. But could the pranks be hiding some real feelings?

Born and raised in Nashville TN, Sarah Adams loves her family, warm days, and making people smile. Sarah has dreamed of being a writer since she was a girl, but finally wrote her first novel when her daughters were napping and she no longer had any excuses to put it off. Also, the fact that she was 7 months pregnant, they only met for the first time when she was already pregnant (with someone else’s baby) and it ended up in a perfect HEA all within the span of 3 months… without a serious talk of what jumping into a relationship when she’s prego with someone else’s baby means… idk, bugged me a little. Wanted more in that area altogether. Even if it’s a favorite, the enemies-to-lovers and/or the hate-to-love trope is either a hit or miss for me. This book just proves it’s a HARD miss for me.Content: a few instances of mild swearing. Kissing- making out, behind doors intimacy with no details but you know it happens. This was a good book! I mean it is your typical “I hate him so f* much, let’s do pranks on each other” vibe. But then the vibe is more like “wait, I might actually like him”. But yeah, that is also what I signed up for sooo. It has the pregnancy trope, but not in a bad way. It made the book a little different, so it was nice 💛💛
