Description

I wasn't sure at first how much as I was going to like this but then, with the final half of the book pulling no punching and wearing its heart right on its sleeve, I was won over: hook, like and sinker. When Albie's mother dies of cancer and his father, a science celebrity is busy globetrotting the media world, then Albie decides that he would do all he can be find his mum some way. Even if that meant continuing her research in parallel universes and finding his way to her...in somewhere completely different.

But outside of Albie's own journey, Edge is careful to use others to emphasize the powerful that comes with moving on. There's an understandable emphasis on just how challenging that process is, but it's a necessity to continue living and bringing creativity into the world. This is especially effectively in one of the universes, where the fate of the world is an uncertain one, but that act of moving on helps open the door to something that may change that very fate.Nominated for the 2017 CILIP Carnegie Medal. Winner of the Brilliant Book Award, the Redbridge Children’s Book Award, the Harrow School Library Service Book Award, the Hounslow Junior Book Award, the West Sussex Story Book Award and the East Sussex Children’s Book Award. Longlisted for the UKLA Book Awards 2017 and the Amazing Book Awards. Shortlisted for the Teach Primary New Children’s Fiction Award 2016, the Derbyshire Schools’ Book Award, the Coventry Inspiration Book Award, the Chorlton Children’s Book Award, the St Helens Book Award, the Salisbury Schools Book Award, the Centurion Book Awards, the Sheffield Children’s Book Award and The Read 2018. Schade. Denn das ist ja DAS zentrale Thema.

I’d love this book in all the worlds. Heartbreaking, heartwarming, heartstopping. Amazing.” —HOLLY SMALE, author of the award-winning Geek Girl seriesIn this book quantum mechanics plays a big part. It is all explained very well because it is explained by a 10-year-old. All the physics is spot on in this book, which I really really really love. So, if you’ve enjoyed the idea of A Thousand Pieces of You, you will definitely enjoy this book as well, even though it is aimed at children (10-13 year-olds). When we first meet Albie he tells us about his mother's death, and I defy anyone not to fall in love with him right away. Once his dad talks to him about quantum physics Albie is convinced that with the right invention he will be able to travel to an alternate universe, one where his mother is alive.

The many worlds of Albie bright is a book which is about a young boy who had a dream of becoming a scientist and that is what his parents to become when he is older .his parents were always so busy he always missed his parents at a young age his mother died from cancer.he had missed school for a few days in his family most of his brother and sisters were scientist and lived a good life. one day he created a time travel proto type which could send you to a parallel universe. I have like it ... Proves the theory that novels about science can be enormous fun." -- The Times Children's Book of the Week (UK) I am enjoying this book because it is very facinating how they talk about paralelle universes because maybe some people has never talked about this stuff and might learn something new in this book. It is funny, sad, interesting and science related so it doesn't just has one genre, it has a different genre that everyone can enjoy. I would definately recommend this book to a person who loves science. Review based on an ARC provided by Netgalley. Thank you to the publisher for giving me this opportunity. What follows is a touching story of Albie coming to accept his new position, while we watch an increasingly bizarre set of alternate circumstances that Albie finds himself in. I was emotionally invested in this very short read, while being highly amused by some of the events and a little bemused by the science stuff.Het verhaal nam me helemaal mee in de verwerking van het verlies van de mama van Stein. Ik las zo snel als ik een kinderboek lezen kon... en heb er op het einde zelfs een traan bij gelaten.

Is het een boek voor groep 7 (het vijfde leerjaar)? Hmmm voor sommige kinderen zeker, maar daar heb je enkel de hele knappe lezers mee. Voor anderen is dit naar leesniveau niet zo evident. When Albie’s mum dies, it’s natural he should wonder where she’s gone. His parents are both scientists and they usually have all the answers. Dad mutters something about Albie’s mum being alive and with them in a parallel universe. So Albie finds a box, his mum’s computer and a rotting banana, and sends himself through time and space to find her… Christopher grew up in Manchester where he spent most of his childhood in the local library dreaming up stories, but now lives in Gloucestershire where he spends most of his time in the local library dreaming up stories. Before becoming a writer, he worked as an English teacher, editor and publisher – any job that let him keep a book close to hand. When not writing, he also works as a freelance publisher and education consultant and has written publications about encouraging children to read. But then Albie's mother dies of cancer, and his world is shattered. When his father explains that she might be alive in a parallel universe, Albie knows he has to find her. So, armed with a box, a laptop, and a banana, Albie sets out to do just that.

Escape Room

This book is about a boy named Albie whose mum died. His mum was an amazing scientist and both Albie and his dad are devastated when she dies. Albie is desperate to see his mum again and when his dad mentions Quantum physics, and how numerous versions of ourselves can exist in a parallel universe, Albie decides to try and travel into one where his mum is alive. He finds out about the Quantum banana theory and uses it to travel into different parallel universes. Albie finds lots of versions of himself and his life on his mission to find his mum. Fun science meets humor and heart in this adventure about a boy who is searching for his mother . . . in a parallel universe. I found this book ok the build up to the story I found boring but the rest was really good. This book is about a boy Albie Bright and his mum died of cancer and he uses quantum physics to find his mum he finds hi mum in a parrelel universes but went on a long journey to find her.He founds a girl version of himself and an evil twin definitely reccomend it.
