Description

Given that this is the same basic setup as the original X-T30, we were already confident that image quality was going to be great, and we haven’t been disappointed. Colors are beautifully vibrant, and images have bags of detail – and those film simulation modes are always fun to experiment with.

It works extraordinarily well, is pretty responsive, and delivers excellent shots even in low-light surroundings. The lens is relatively small, but don’t let it fool you – it is the best prime lens I have used in quite some time. All of the images I got with it were of fantastic quality. Autofocus system: Intelligent hybrid AF (TTL contrast-detect/phase-detection AF) with AF-assist illuminator Movies: Standard output sensitivity equivalent to ISO 160 – 12800 in increments of 1/3 EV; AUTO; extended output sensitivity equivalent to ISO 25600 It occurred when subjects were at the side of the frame. Generally speaking, the image quality is better than expected. Besides superior sharpness, colors are beautifully rendered, and the contrast adds to the impression of fine details.

I liked the all-metal construction of this lens, which assured me right away that it would be safe to use it more roughly.

Fujinon XF 27mm f/2.8 is a light lens, weighing only 77 grams. It is configured with seven elements in five groups, with the electron beam coating. The wide aperture does a decent job of letting light into the sensor.

There’s just one memory card slot, which is to be expected on a mid-range camera like the Fujifilm X-T30 II. It’s an SD/HC/XC compatible slot, but it’s a shame not to see it offering UHS-II, especially considering how fast this camera can shoot. It’s also a little awkwardly placed if you’re using a tripod – you’ll find it behind the same door as the battery, next to the tripod thread, rather than behind a separate door on the side of the camera. Fujifilm X-T30 II review: features and performance On the camera’s top plate there’s a shutter speed dial, an exposure compensation dial and a drive mode dial. Several of Fujifilm’s lenses have aperture rings, but if you’re using a lens that doesn’t have one (such as the 15-45mm kit lens), you can use one of the dual-control dials on the front and rear of the camera to make those changes. Focus mode is adjusted via a switch on the front of the camera. The first thing I have noticed about this lens is its size and, consequently, weight. It can be energy-draining to carry this lens around for a prolonged period. The focusing system is fast and accurate. It did not cause any focusing issues during the testing and operated smoothly, even in low-light situations. Fujifilm's designers have even found room for a pop-up flash, though it's not particularly powerful.
