Description

However, while it did alleviate the pain in my wrist, it actually caused more pain in my forearm and shoulder, and now the bonus of the entire thumb area of the hand - from the wrist up to the tip of my thumb. After a week of looking at the design and messing around with folded towels under my arm, it finally dawned on me why this mouse caused so much pain.... Regardless of the iteration, a pen mouse does not force you to twist your wrist to lie flat, and given their small physical size it's easy to find a position that minimizes arm movement. Finally, putting the mouse buttons and actions on a pen reduces the strain caused by awkward button placements on a standard mouse. The majority of mice tested had on board dongle storage, which is super convenient if you are on the move for work. The downside to a vertical mouse can be its degree of accuracy. The shape moves your hand higher up the body and further away from the mouse sensor, changing the correlation between how you move your hand and the path of the cursor. Even after spending weeks with a vertical mouse, it can take an extra adjustment to line up the pointer with a small icon. That may go away over time, but it's a significant change that you should be ready for if you want to go down this road. Die Maus ist äußerst präzise und reaktionsschnell, was sie ideal für die Arbeit mit Design-Software oder Spiele macht.Nevertheless, a vertical mouse will be the best ergonomic mouse option for most users. It mitigates the musculoskeletal issues caused by overuse of a standard mouse while retaining most of the experience of using one. For gamers and creative pros who may not be able to use one all the time, the answer may be having two mice—a vertical model for everyday use, and a curved, palm-supporting conventional mouse for occasional precision work. I highly recommend this mouse to anyone who is having hand and wrist pain. My hand feels 100% better. I received this mouse on September 17th. It is now December 19th, so I have given it three months of use before writing this review. Before purchasing this 3M mouse, I was using just your average, typical, mouse with a scrolling wheel in the center. For work I am on the computer around 13 hours a day. Recently my right wrist, forearm, and shoulder started to ache and eventually became very painful because of the unnatural position my mouse held my hand/arm in. Also I use the scrolling wheel very often and my middle finger (which I used to scroll with), started to swell and experience pain in the joints, with a hard, painful bone-like spur on the underside. Giving the Ergo Mouse a go, the benefits of this more relaxed hand position were immediately obvious to me as the reduction in pressure on the heel of my hand alleviated the niggling pains I get there. Meanwhile the more natural wrist position reduced overall tension in the general forearm area. Even my finger pain was reduced. Quite simply, this thing definitely works when it comes to reducing pain. Sadly, it’s somewhat less accomplished when it comes to most of the other traits we look for in a good mouse/pointing device.

As for some of the complaints that others have made, I think they must be talking about older versions or something. I have the following to say: The Microsoft Sculpt Ergonomic Mouse has the best sensor of the lot. Case in point, it was able to carry out drawings in Paint on a glass table without any issues. You can limp along on a glass table with the Logitech MX Vertical and the iClever Vertical, but it will be a rough journey because the mouse sensor will register movements more sporadically. Except for the Anker 2.4G Vertical, all of the other mice performed more or less equally well on common desktop materials. The Anker 2.4G Vertical became quite fussy on all but the smoothest, least reflective surfaces. As for the claim that is cheaply built and easily broken, it feels very solid to me and has survived two falls from my keyboard tray onto industrial carpeting with no padding. As for other features, the Ergo Mouse is available in two versions: Large (EM550GPL) – which we’re reviewing here – and Small/Medium (EM550GPS). It’s a wireless device, too, so if clutter is a concern that’s a plus point. It also seems well built with a sturdy, solid feel and a smooth, soft-touch finish all over. On the underside is a battery compartment, an On/Off switch, and a button for syncing the mouse with its included USB receiver. Two AAAs are needed and some basic ones are provided in the box. The pen-style grip still is a source of ergonomic concern, however. Curling your fingers around a pen mouse for many hours per day over a period of years seems like a recipe for a specific form of repetitive strain injury. That said, holding a pen requires much less grip strength than using a mouse, so this may only be a concern for people with painful wrists or fingers.

To determine which ergonomic mouse came out on top, we divided our assessment into three metrics: comfort, browsing, and surfaces. Comfort I discovered this "mouse" and the Evoluent vertical mouse. Evoluent VM4 Vertical Mouse Right Handed - The Patented Shape Supports Your Hand Because part of my problem seemed to be not only wrist angle, but also pressure along the length of my index finger I chose the 3M Wireless mouse with some trepidation. offers something its main vertical competitors don’t – namely, a size selection. There are only two different sizes available, large and small – which is somewhat limiting, but still beats one-size-fits-all. I found the large model a bit too large for my sizable hand, but I’m sure the small would have been wrong for me in the other extreme. I think 3M could improve in this area by following the example of the Handshoe and offering more than just two sizes. Thumbthing to think aboutAls Content Writer Specialist und Experte in der Technologiebranche, habe ich die 3M Ergonomie kabellos Maus in der Farbe schwarz getestet und bewerte sie mit 5 Sternen. As for the claims of thumb pain, this ergonomic mouse comes in two sizes. I suspect getting the right size is important. My hand was at the upper range of the recommended size for small and at the bottom of large. I chose the small and it is fine. My thumb falls right on the toggle switch without stretching. My thumb feels fine and used to have a lot of thumb pain. The Logitech M570 has a comfortable grip and a smooth finish, but we don't like the pressure it puts on our wrists. Its awkward angle tends to apply pressure on the pisiform or the other carpals — sometimes both. A small or medium-sized hand might be able to avoid this issue. We had a similar issue with the Microsoft Sculpt Ergonomic Mouse. It has a traditional mouse style with a slight angle that puts the wrist in an uncomfortable position, but it supports the palm wonderfully. Our hands tended to get sweaty and slide around on the glossy plastic finish. The majority of our testers didn't fall in love with this mouse, but it was the number one choice for one tester. Their hand size is between small and medium. Browsing So while it is not perfect, and I shouldn't have to make padding for it, I gave this mouse 4 stars because I do like it, even though I had to make adjustments to make it work. It glides smoothly on a mouse pad. The toggle button is smooth, as is the scroll button. It does take some time getting used to scrolling this way, but once I got the hang of it, it's second nature to me now.
