Actually, the evidence - physical evidence, in the form of documents (including Hitler's will and testament), survivor accounts, Hitler's state of mind and health - is overwhelming that Adolf did kill himself on the morning of 30th April 1945. The Gray Wolf Throne is an epic tale of fierce loyalty, unbearable sacrifice, and the heartless hand of fate.

The book does take some time to set the scene but overall it's an interesting and thought provoking story. Yet they were disciplined, by the dangers and risks of their nomad life, to rigid obedience under their leaders.I found it to read more like an extremely detailed history book of WWII and then of what may or may not have happened to Adolph Hitler. The background to the Nazi’s looting of Europe is told in some detail, and bring to life the involvement of organisations such as The Monuments Men and the legendary Patrick Dalziel-Job. The best evidence remains that Hitler died in the Fuhrerbunker, and Bormann died not far from it in Berlin.

A must read for anyone interested in World War II history, this book is detailed and worth your time. Having heard rumours over the years that Hitler didn't die in the Berlin bunker, I read this book with interest. Every quotation and conversation quoted verbatim in my Gray Wolf—with the exception of two which are of very minor importance and for which the evidence is less assured—has been supplied by Mustafa Kemal or obtained from documentary or verbal sources which have been severely tested and carefully weighed before their veracity and value have been accepted. Since then the idea has resurfaced occasionally, with alleged photographic and documentary evidence pored over by conspiracy theorists.They were replaced by a “double” of Hitler and an actress, who played Braun, and who went through a sham marriage on the 29th April before being executed the next day as the Russians were approaching the Reich Chancellery*. Bormann continues to be the major player as he ensures Hitler is looked after and protected until finally the Fuhrer dies aged 72. I found it very well documented as to the history of the War up until what most believe to be the death of Hitler in the bunker.
