Samsung's Q60 also turned in excellent color-accuracy scores, with a Delta-E rating of 1.6 in Movie Mode. That's notably better than the Vizio M-Series Quantum's 3.6 rating and only slightly off the 1.49 mark from the 2018 Samsung QLED Q6F. The TCL 6-Series, however, did slightly better, with a Delta-E rating of 1.1. Regardless, the Q60's color performance is rather impressive for being one of the cheaper models in the QLED lineup. The Samsung Q60B makes a good first impression on two counts. First, it’s much brighter than the majority of TVs we see in this price category. Bright enough, in fact, to handle high dynamic range sources with genuine conviction – by which we mean that bright scenes, at least, actually look like genuine HDR rather than just like something that’s a bit better than SDR. The sound it emits is very flat focusing only on the mid frequencies and bass is conspicuous by its absence. Watching news or live debate programs, the sound may be okay, but as soon as you put on a movie, the sound is very closed and the effects of explosions, engine sounds, etc. are not noticeable. Also, although most TVs have the speakers directed downwards, in this case it is much more noticeable and at no time gives the feeling that the sound comes to the front. The Samsung Q60 QLED TV is alternately a great smart TV with some disappointing performance issues or an overpriced midrange set that costs more due to the Samsung QLED branding. As this is the most affordable model in the QLED lineup, it's clear that Samsung wants to tempt more price-conscious shoppers into the QLED fold, but that may not be worth the cost for customers. The Q60 does offer some excellent features, like Samsung's excellent smart TV platform, great support for smart home stuff, and a genuinely great assortment of support and performance for gaming. Max light output HDR (high dynamic range) while displaying small white square taking up 10% of the screen (measured in Nits)There is a basic version of Samsung’s Motion Xcelerator feature, which claims to predict and automatically compensate for frame rate fluctuations, but it’s hard to say from our time with the set that this really has much effect on the gaming experience. The Q60 also handles fast action well, as the flying fists of the Creed II boxing match had very little of the smearing or juddering issues we often see on even premium TVs. A lesser set might have had problems showing the fight clearly, but the Q60 managed to display fast action with admirable smoothness and clarity. Film Mode, Auto Game Mode, Ambient Mode, Game Motion Plus, Auto Low Latency Mode (ALLM), Filmmaker Mode, HGIG Mode What's worth noting, though, is what you don't get with the Q60A. 8K resolution is off the table, as are the wide viewing angles of more premium sets. This is also an edge-lit set, which helps to keep it slim but will mean the brightness isn't consistent across the screen, and could negatively impact HDR performance. The light emitted by the LEDs is blue instead of white as usual which gives the advantage that the blue color is already created and to create the red and green colors these quantum dots are used. While it is true that the audio quality has been slightly improved over last year’s Q60A model, we still consider it rather mediocre. Other features include Multi-View (up to two simultaneous video feeds) and an Ambient Mode for calming screensavers or photography. You even get Filmmaker Mode, which turns off most of your picture processing – ostensibly to cleave closer to 'what the creator intended' – but for a screen at this price point we couldn't recommend leaving the picture to fend for itself. Fortunately, the Q60B’s speakers avoid actual distortion even under the heaviest duress, dialogue tends to emerge surprisingly clear and clean despite the limited dynamic range and sound ‘projection’, and there’s also quite a lot of detail to be heard during good movie or TV show mixes, suggesting that while the speakers might not have enough room to breathe, they are at least sensitive and well constructed. No matter what type of content you’re watching, the Q60B retains a reasonable amount of detail in dark scenes, and brighter parts of the image are able to maintain adequate illumination. In the QLED Q80B series of which we have already told you about in another review, the sound is much superior and there if you notice a more direct sound and with much more reinforcement in the bass. Overall, though, there just isn’t enough power or dynamic range available to really get the sound out into your room as much as you’d like it to. Verdict The mind-blowing slim profile of your TV blends seamlessly into the wall like you've never seen before. As the outstanding balance, plus the interest now form part of your payable balance they will attract interest

The impact of its brightness with HDR footage can be felt in both the amount of full-screen brightness it can muster and the intensity it’s able to inject into small bright highlights – even if those highlights are within an already bright overall image.
