Before application ensure that your decking area has been swept thoroughly and all dirt and debris has been removed. Do not apply in temperatures below 5℃, in damp conditions or if rain is likely before the product has dried. It is also important to note that overall final colour will depend on wood type, previous treatments and the number of coats that have been applied.

To maintain the surface finish and its anti-slip properties, re-apply a fresh coat of Cuprinol Anti-Slip Decking Stain when the surface starts to show signs of wear, following the Preparation and Application instructions above. To begin, stir the decking stain thoroughly, and then apply 2-3 coats evenly along the grain, avoiding any overlaps where possible. If you come across any holes or gaps on your wooden surface, these should also be filled in before starting. On decking previously stained with Cuprinol Anti-Slip Decking Stain, use a wire brush to remove any loose or peeling material and remove any surface contaminates as mentioned above.Some products may be delivered straight to your door from one of our suppliers and these products will be labelled within the product description. It also features algicide which helps protect your wooden surface against green algae and mould growth. Decking that has already been previously coated with paint or decking stain must be stripped back to its natural bare wood before application can begin. On previously stained decking, touch up bare areas and allow to dry before finishing with further coats.

Any areas that have been affected by mould or mildew, should be treated immediately with a suitable mould and mildew cleaner. However if the shades are very different this is usually attributable to a lack of stirring before and during application.
