Description

In "Tee Off, Mr Bean", Mr Bean tries to retrieve his trousers which accidentally ended up in a woman's laundry. The woman is wearing headphones (with music loud enough for the audience to hear) and is unaware of Mr Bean's presence. She puts her clothes inside the tumble drier and switches it on, completely unaware that Mr Bean has climbed inside. Crazy Enough to Work: When Bean buys household appliances and furniture, he puts everything in and on his Mini, and has to tie the chair he bought on the roof. No longer being able to fit in the car, he instead rigs some wires to control the car while sitting in the chair!

In August 2009, an official YouTube channel of the series was launched featuring content from both the original live-action and animated series. [56]Foreign Remake: Pakistani Mr. Bean . Tired of the constant barrage of death, violence, and tragedy in his home country, a Pakistani man took on the persona of Mr. Bean so that he could get people laughing and having fun. Apparently, Rowan Atkinson himself loves it. Offscreen Crash: The ending of the first episode, when Mr Bean drives his mini into a no-through road (shown by a sign). "The Trouble with Mr. Bean" has what could be called an Offscreen Splash, when a young boy playing with a model boat is unknowingly operating a motorised wheelchair, which then pushes him into a pond. Blindfolded Trip: When Mr. Bean arrives in room 426, he takes his blindfolded Teddy out of his suitcase, as if it was a surprise journey for him. Awesome, but Impractical: Many of Mr. Bean's plans are convoluted and impressive solutions to problems that are far from easy or reasonable to execute, and occasionally their impracticality undoes them.

Silence Is Golden: Much of the show's international success has been attributed to its reliance on physical comedy over dialogue. In the Comic Relief sketch "Torvill & Bean", Bean is accompanied by a female companion portrayed by Sophie Thompson whose overall appearance resembles Gobb's.

( January 2021) Naked People Are Funny: Mr. Bean is stripped naked in "The Curse of Mr. Bean", "Mr. Bean Goes to Town", and "Mr. Bean in Room 426". In the lattermost episode, this leads to him employing Hand-or-Object Underwear and then dressing in drag. Ass Shove: Mr. Bean uses Teddy as a paintbrush by shoving a bristleless brush up the stuffed bear's bottom in "Do-It-Yourself Mr. Bean". Hulu gets Mr. Bean animated series". StreamDaily. 8 June 2015. The book ends on a sad note as Mr. Bean writes repeated letters to Santa asking for a drum kit, but since he has no-one to actually exchange presents with, buys himself a brass hook for his toilet door and spends Christmas alone. The Diaper Change: Mr Bean has to do this in "Mind the Baby, Mr Bean". He improvises a nappy by dissecting a teddy bear, which he ties around the baby's bottom. The title character is pretty much The Voiceless in the TV show apart from some wordless grumbling, or the very occasional comment. This is averted in the first film, which climaxes with the character giving a big speech about Whistler's mother.Exclusive interview: Is Ed Miliband ready?". Financial Times. 2 October 2016. The series was re-released by Shout Factory in North America on 24 March 2015 on DVD to coincide with its 25th anniversary. This set contains digitally remastered episodes (similar to the 2010 British release), the 40-minute The Story of Mr. Bean, additional scenes: "Turkey Weight," "Armchair Sale," "Marching" and "Playing With Matches", "Bus Stop" and "Library" sketches, a trailer for Mr. Bean: The Animated Series and " The Best Bits of Mr. Bean", a 72-minute clip show. [57] [58] VHS Title Hero's Classic Car: Played for Laughs. Bean's BMC Mini is a small econo-car with character, and Bean makes occasional eccentric modifications to it. Depending on your taste, it could qualify as a Cool Car. One of Bean's earliest appearances occurred at the " Just for Laughs" comedy festival in Montreal, Quebec, Canada, in 1987. When programme coordinators were scheduling him into the festival programme, Atkinson insisted that he perform on the French-speaking bill rather than the English-speaking programme. Having no French dialogue in his act at all, programme coordinators could not understand why Atkinson wanted to perform on the French bill instead. As it turned out, Atkinson's act at the festival was a test platform for his character and he wanted to see how his character's physical comedy would fare on an international stage with a non-English speaking audience. Mr. Bean's long-suffering girlfriend, Irma Gobb (played by Matilda Ziegler), appears in three episodes. In " The Curse of Mr. Bean" and " Mr. Bean Goes to Town", the character is simply credited as "the girlfriend". She is treated relatively inconsiderately by Bean, who appears to regard her more as a friend and companion rather than as a love interest. However, he does become jealous when she dances with another man at a disco in "Mr. Bean Goes to Town", and she certainly expects him to propose to her on Christmas Day in " Merry Christmas, Mr. Bean"; his failure to do so results in her leaving him for good. Despite this, she later reappears in Mr. Bean: The Animated Series. It is revealed in the book Mr. Bean's Diary that her name is Irma Gobb and she works as a librarian at the local library. [15]
