Description

For an old-fashioned and reliable ice cream scoop, we loved using the Zeroll 1020 Ice Cream Scoop. While it doesn’t have a groundbreaking design, we found it to be a practical and effective kitchen tool.

The ergonomic handle was lightweight and fit well in our hands, which made scooping ice cream a breeze. The handle was also an appropriate length, so we were able to scoop the ice cream without getting our hands messy. We appreciated that this ice cream scoop is dishwasher safe, and after washing it, there was no damage or discoloration present. Here are four fabulous ways you can scoop your favourite ice cream (we recommend Tried & Tested salted caramel) without any hassle: This scoop glided seamlessly when used, although we did notice it created more square-shaped ice cream mounds compared to other ice cream scoops that created round mounds. Though the shape was slightly different, it still worked well and earned a 4.5-star rating for its performance after we tested it.

Joseph Joseph Dimple Non-Drip Ice Cream Scoop: The dimples on the bowl of the Joseph Joseph help release the ice cream easily, but the white collar, which is designed to catch runny drips as the scoop sits up on end, makes it harder to pull the tool tight against the side of the container and form a ball. It should last a lifetime if it’s hand-washed as directed. The downside to the Zeroll scoop is that it is unable to tolerate temperatures above 140 degrees Fahrenheit, making it unable to go in the dishwasher. The hollow design of some ice cream scoops helps with heat transfer. "Anyone who has tried to scoop ice cream from a tub that just came out of the freezer knows it’s not easy, so most scoops are designed to transfer the heat from your hand to the ice cream you are scooping," the Bechtels say. "Most hollow scoops are filled with a conductive liquid that warms the scoop, making it just a bit easier to get through a tub of ice cream.” This conductive liquid will often be advertised as an anti-freeze. It features a heat-conductive liquid inside the handle that helps provide an easy release. The aluminum design helps protect the scoop from oxidation and corrosion, so it's made with durability in mind. Both right- and left-handed users can scoop ice cream with this tool since it’s symmetrical. If the metal ice cream scoop is still warm, run it under cold water for a few minutes until it is no longer hot to the touch.

The handle is hollow and filled with antifreeze, which makes cutting through hard ice cream a breeze. (Though this also means you shouldn’t put it in the dishwasher.) In terms of performance, we hardly found any negatives except that it’s impossible to shape your ice cream scoops into balls due to the nature of spades. But if you don’t care about perfectly round scoops, this was one of the best-performing ice cream scoops we tested. But this scoop is more than just its mess-free feature. Its almond-shaped scoop digs in with ease and creates perfectly round scoops of sorbet.

On average, a scoop of ice cream is 1/2 cup, but it depends on who is doing the scooping, what their methods are, and what size scoop is used. A scoop with a 1/2-cup bowl can easily create a 1-cup ball of ice cream. Trigger release and comfortable grip: this unique ice cream scoop with trigger is made with a revolutionary trigger release and an easy-grip handle that makes scooping up your favorite sweet treats so simple. simply press into your ice cream with the scooper, twist, and squeeze the easy release trigger to push out your scoop. no more sore hands or bent spoons! The head had a durable feel and created consistently smooth scoops of ice cream. Because of these factors, we gave this ice cream scoop a five-star rating in the design category. endless choice: this selection gives you a tool no matter the problem you’re facing in the kitchen and offers you the peace of mind that it’ll get the job done well too, taylors eye witness goal is to remove as much of the fear around cooking as possible for as many people as they can and with the right accessory for every task you’ll always be prepared. available too...

Unlike traditional scoops, the HIC Kitchen spade is wide and flat with a rounded edge that makes it ideal for scooping out hard ice cream. We tested this space on both half-gallon and pint ice cream containers and had the best results with the half-gallon container due to its size. We found that the edge was way better for digging ice cream from around the rim compared to a regular scoop. This ergonomic handle is made from non-BPA, 100% recyclable plastic. With five different colors to choose from, you can match your other utensils. According to the manufacturer, their scoop is almost indestructible. Mine is extremely sturdy and has never so much as wavered, so I’m inclined to agree until I see otherwise. Unlike many ice cream scoops, this one is dishwashers safe, so you don’t have to worry about hand washing it unless you want to. After completing testing, the zinc alloy scoop came out of the dishwasher as shiny as it went in, but the handle looked duller with some residue. This slight discoloration didn’t affect the comfort of the handle, though. Midnight Scoop: The pricey Midnight Scoop looks like a piece of modern sculpture. To use it, you push with the palm of your hand, rather than pulling, like with a traditional scoop. There’s a bit of a learning curve to use it correctly; for us, it pushed the ice cream like a bulldozer, never really scooping it. This ergonomic model also needs a wide-open area to work in, so, if you buy ice cream in narrow pint or quart containers, this probably isn’t the right tool for you. Good Cook Twister Ice Cream Scoop: Another model from Good Cook, the Twister, requires turning your wrist as you dig down into the ice cream. During testing, it was difficult to form a true ball of ice cream, and the twisting motion is awkward. Zeroll Original Tubmate Ice Cream Spade: The spade on the Zeroll Tubmate is two and five-eighths inches wide, making it difficult to work with in smaller, pint-sized containers.
