While they could have gone and made a quick small book with existing artwork, they laboured in creating a genesis of a band showcasing every little minute detail in their lives to the present.As far as I can tell, this at least gets all the content right, even if the experience of leafing through that beautiful hardcover is lost. The back cover of the book features Jamie's interpretation of what all of the band would look like combined. The original idea for the book was to be a compilation of all press interviews with Gorillaz from phases one and two. My only wish is that they would release the book with added info, since Plastic Beach came out afterwards. Rise of the Ogre is the autobiography of Gorillaz, written by Cass Browne and illustrated by Jamie Hewlett and Zombie Flesh Eaters.
