Since then, in its 16 editions, it has established an international reputation as a medium-sized textbook of clinical medicine used by clinical students as well as junior doctors, GPs and trainees, and other ancillary markets. New 'Practice Point' summaries detail the practical skills that medical students and junior doctors must acquire, from nasogastric tube insertion to the interpretation of ECGs and arterial blood gases. This book will serve readers everywhere as a core text that integrates medical science with clinical medicine, conveying key knowledge and practical advice in a highly accessible and readable format. While staying true to its foundations, it has brilliantly incorporated the latest in medical advances and treatment. Access over 500 self-testing questions with answers linked to the book’s content for further reading. The internal layout of the book has been revised to make information more accessible to students: information summary boxes break up the text and information summary boxes break up the text and are ideal for quick revision - each chapter has been reviewed by a junior doctor to ensure that it is pitched at the right level for clinical studies. This has really advanced since then and is the perfect all-rounder for medical undergraduates and those who teach them. I used it along side MCQs and the text is just set at the right level with the relevant information.

There's a World of books to choose from such as: Children's Books, Range includes Baby Books (0-3), Books for Toddlers (3-5), Early Readers (5-7), Childrens Story books (7-11), Young Teens (11-14), Young Adults (14-16) and Childrens Educational Books. According to my wife, who is a GP, and for whom this book was purchased, this is a nice, well-organised book that she enjoyed having around when she was a student. The cover may have some limited signs of wear but the pages are clean, intact and the spine remains undamaged. The global perspective is enhanced by an International Advisory Board of experts from 11 countries and by leading authors from around the world.Presenting Problems sections provide a clear pathway for the assessment of and approach to the most common complaints in each specialty. Part 3 ‘Clinical Medicine’- covers the major medical specialties, each thoroughly revised and brought fully up to date. Topics covered include: genetic, climatic and environmental factors in disease; disturbances in water, electrolyte and acid-base balance; endocrine and metabolic diseases; psychiatry; and acute poisoning. Now in its 24th Edition, this thoroughly updated textbook describes the pathophysiology and clinical features of the most frequently encountered conditions in the major specialties of adult medicine, and explains how to recognise, investigate, diagnose and manage them. I still admire the delicate balance of conciseness, comprehensiveness, a touch of basic science such as pathophysiology and pointing out the salient clinical picture.
