Sun 26 Good product Have used this for years now. It's so light and doesn't clog your hair. Gives good volume. I love Percy and Reed volumising products. Expensive but worth it. Shoutout to Wise Lady! You knew what you were talking about, and I am forever grateful despite your pushiness. Smokey20 Best product I have ever used can’t rate enough This is really good have been using this for over 2years

Our moisturising shampoo also helps smooth tangles and banish split ends so your hair will feel instantly so much softer. It’s fair to say that we’ve never been more obsessed with oils for hair growth and thinning than now; in part thanks to rosemary oil well and truly going bonkers on TikTok. But while the impact of oils on hair growth might be limited, there are huge benefits to having the product in your routine line-up. We called in the help of two experts to find out everything you need to know about hair oils, and which are our favourites. Can oils help with hair growth? Liz789 Nice hair ‘oil’ I really like Percy & Reed oils as, unlike others, they don’t make your hair feel heavy or oily. Just to put it out there, I don’t do any heat styling on my hair because I can’t be arsed to put in the effort for 30 mins just for it to last like a total of 5 mins. I ain’t even lying. Also, it’s actually good for your hair. Percy & Reed claim it “nourishes and repairs” your hair, which I am all for. It’s made me hair A LOT less frizzy so I was happy going out with my less-frizzed hair, with no thought to even attempt styling it. I’m not sure if it can be used for styling (simply because I don’t do any styling myself), but it probably wouldn’t hurt if it did! It made my hair surprisingly not as oily as I thought (which, formula, hooray) but made my hair crispy. You heard me right, I said crispy. Image credit Giphy

Apply it to wet hair and leave it to dry naturally. Or alternatively, apply and then blow dry, depending on the look you’re going for. However, if you were born with a frizz-inclined hair texture, fear not – the right prep and styling products are here to help. According to Hersheson, lanolin is your friend here. (You’ll find it in spades in his own, excellent Almost Everything Cream.) Derived from sheep's wool, this fatty substance shields from static while imparting seriously deep moisture (you’ll also find it in your favourite cuticle softeners and lip balms). Sorry to quote a completely unrelated beauty tagline, but if you’ve got frizzy hair, you were born with it. Whether or not your hair puffs up depends on your hair type, meaning some will never know the battle. (Jealous? Us?) It also provides humidity protection of up to 72 hours and seals the cuticle to prevent and banish frizz. Hello hair-strand perfector! For best results, apply to damp, towel-dried hair before using your favourite stylers.

It’s worth finding the right oil for you though, “there are so many benefits, including preventing hair breakage and split ends, as well as eliminating frizz,” says Hairstylist and hair extensions specialist Abigail Butler. Most of all, oils help condition the hair, which naturally repels water, especially if you have low porosity hair. You’re supposed to apply 1-2 drops of this oil from root to tip on towel-dried hair and I know what you’re thinking. But do not fear! Usually, applying any oil to your roots will make your scalp oily after just washing your hair, and it’s like nooooooo amirite? This doesn’t do that! I’m guessing it has something to do with its fancy formula, and also it being applied on wet hair instead of dry. 🤓 As a brownie, my hair 100% falls into the category of frizz. I tried so many things to help at least to reduce the frizz impact to no avail for many-a-years. I tried the coconut oil thing, and the deep conditioning thing, and the shampoo and the whatever! You get the idea. Nothing worked, and I thought to myself, yeah. All frizz-control products are a scam. And I basically lived with my out of control hair for years. Telephone123 My hair loves this stuff! Non greasy and give a great shine to my hair. Feels soft and smooth.

Aqua (Water), Alcohol Denat., PEG-40 Hydrogenated Castor Oil, PEG-12 Dimethicone, Phenoxyethanol, Parfum (Fragrance), Acrylates/Beheneth-25 Methacrylate Copolymer, Polyquaternium-68, Hydroxyethylcellulose, Polyquaternium-4, Ethylhexylglycerin, Disodium EDTA, Panthenol, Hydrolyzed Wheat Protein PG-Propyl Silanetriol, Glycerin, Sodium Hydroxide, Viola Odorata (Violet) Leaf Extract, Potassium Sorbate, Sodium Benzoate.Let’s clear up some confusion. Although TikTok has led us to believe that oil — specifically the rosemary kind — is the key to all our growth woes, that’s not always the case. Unfortunately, “there is very little to no scientific evidence that hair oils help to promote hair growth,” explains trichologist Angela Onuoha. A 2015 study did find that rosemary increased hair growth over a 6 month period, and although this is promising, don’t expect this to be some kind of miracle cure. There are many factors that determine hair growth. This 2020 study looking into central centrifugal cicatricial alopecia (CCCA) specifically found no natural ingredients, including rosemary oil, to have any benefit to patients. It's always worth remember that not everyone's wonder product, or ingredient, is the same. When it comes to hair oils for wigs and extensions, “using sulphate-free and alcohol-free products are essential to maintaining healthy hair extensions and looking after your wig. Make sure your hair extensions and wigs are nourished, especially if they are 100% human hair,” Abigail says. "Oils are fantastic at creating a luxurious feel to your wig and hair extensions, especially if they are light to leave your hair feeling silky smooth,” she adds. Limitations of hair oil Speaking of! I’m a delinquent! And unable follow instructions so I tried using it on a day I hadn’t washed my hair i.e. I put it on COMPLETELY DRY HAIR despite the bottle BLATANTLY dictating not to. I suppose you know where this is going. This no oil oil is also your one and only for fixing pesky flyaways. Our co-founder Paul says, “Work a small amount of Smoothed, Sealed & Sensational No Oil Oil into the palms of your hands then, using a large blusher brush, smooth over the surface of the hair. It will tame flyaways and give a great shine boost.”
