The Codex Astartes prescribes standardised iconography for the Veteran units of any Codex-compliant Space Marine Chapter. Every Veteran member of a Chapter is entitled to display their elite status using a white helmet. A Veteran sergeant's helmet is red with a white stripe to designate their Veteran status. A Veteran's power armour, regardless of pattern, features white or silver-trimmed shoulder plates. Veteran Marines are those Astartes in the Loyalist Space Marine Chapters who have gained considerable experience in the service of their Chapter and often serve in the Chapter's elite 1st Company which is comprised solely of Veteran Squads or as an elite corps or Command Squad within a Chapter's other companies. Veteran Squads are exclusively a part of the 1st Company of the Chapter. Four linked projects by Imperial College London to develop prosthetics, including innovative implants to treat limb pain. This one seems like it should be more useful than it is. The biggest challenge is that your only heavy weapons are the stalker bolters/bolt rifles and the heavy bolter/Infernus heavy bolter, and most of the time you play those you’re going to give them the Heavy Specialism so they ignore the move and shoot penalty anyways (and when you don’t, you’re typically focused on using the profiles that auto-hit). CSo its best used on Veteran Vanguard unit before Shrike leaves them. The re-roll to Charge with a +1 gives them a 65.9% chance of success. I came to that conclusion after writing some code to simulate this action 10 million times. This is a lot better than the normal chance without re-rolls and without a +1 which is 27.7% chance. You’ll have the choice of two fighters in the form of the Custodian Guard and Allarus Custodian datasheets, the profiles for which will rival all but the most powerful enemy Commanders! For their own Commander, the Adeptus Custodes can call upon a Shield-Captain, who is powerful enough to defeat any adversary with contemptuous ease. Even when wounded almost unto death, the lions of the Emperor are all but unstoppable. Next up I painted the metal bits with Leadbelcher and started highlighting the armor. This part is more tedious than challenging, as it requires edge highlighting the whole thing with Mechanicus Standard Grey. I only did one layer of edge highlights here but if you want to do more, a second layer of Celestra Grey on the corners and very top edges will brighten things and make it stand out a bit more.

Missing Loadouts: A few of the most common loadouts in full 40k just aren’t options here. The biggest loss here is the “breacher” Marine – a Deathwatch Veteran with storm bolter and storm shield. Not only is the storm bolter just not on the Deathwatch Veteran’s wargear options list, you also can’t take any ranged weapon with a storm shield. This isn’t a huge deal – you’ve got some excellent other choices to play with – but if you’ve got Deathwatch that you built for 40k, make sure your loadouts work before fielding them. Crusader Relics – 1CP The standard stratagem to give a relic to a sergeant, and this includes the option to arm a Sword Brother from a Crusader squad. Your relic options are the Witchseeker Bolts, Sword of Judgment, or the Skull of the Cacodominus. This is mostly just OK. The Skull of the Cacodominus is an interesting choice and the sword is decent but ultimately this isn’t really something you want to spend CP on. C Veterans are exceptional warriors, even by the elite standards of the Adeptus Astartes. They excel at all forms of combat and are supplied with the best equipment the Chapter has to offer. They are normally at the forefront of the fighting, leading by example, inspiring the less experienced troops around them with their determination, fortitude and skill in battle. Painting Raven Guard

The Vanguard Fleet is the personal detachment of Dominion starships and soldiers that accompany the changeling known as Odo. As one of the few Founders with an affinity for life as a solid, he was placed in command of this fleet in an effort to combat the re-emerging Hur'q threat. The OVA has also confirmed today that the UK will host a Five Eyes International Ministerial Conference on Veterans later this year. The conference will bring together partners from the United States, Canada, Australia, and New Zealand to discuss and share best practice on veterans issues. Instead Vanguard’s board accepted his recommendation that “purposeful investments” should be made and handed him the job of transforming the international business, a challenge he remembers accepting with a sense of trepidation.
