The so-called crowndels feature a likeness of St Edward’s Crown, which will be used to crown the King at Westminster Abbey on May 6. will operate as normal from Bootle to Coronation Road then via Islington, Little Crosby Road, Richmond Road to Moor Lane to resume normal route to Aintree Hospital. This service will call at the temporary stop on Richmond Road (omitting a section of Islington, Coronation Road and the By-pass). For the Royal connection, three locomotives were repurposed to receive special new liveries. Two locomotives had new liveries applied for use on the Royal Train in 2003. The other locomotive received a special commemorative Jubilee livery for the Diamond Jubilee of Queen Elizabeth II in 2012. This special livery was also for use on the Royal Train. Eleven miles of roadworks will be lifted on the M1 around Hemel Hempstead and Dunstable, and 12.5 miles on the M11 around Cambridge and Harlow. The bus unveiling in Carlisle was attended by Stagecoach’s two main painters; Stephen Temple, 53 and Stephen Douglas, 61 both from Morton, who along with paint shop labourer Mark Maddison, 48 from Botcherby spent an entire week painting the vehicle ready for its crowning moment. The palace has revealed new details on plans for events that will take place over the coronation weekend from Saturday May 6 to Monday May 8. Route 394 is currently on diversion towards Homerton Hospital due to the closure of Wimbourne Street. Route 394 is diverting from Cropley Street via Eagle Wharf Road, New North Road, Baring Street, Bridport Place and Poole Street to New North Road. No stops will be missed. Buses towards Islington Angel will not be divertingand will remain on normal line of route. The diversion will now be in place until Summer 2024. Arrangements for the coronation, like those for the Queen’s funeral in September, will be diplomatically sensitive, given the likely presence of leaders from scores of different countries. The aim is to use volunteering to bring communities together and create a lasting legacy from the coronation weekend.

Due to the closure of Gloucester Avenue eastbound for Thames Water works, buses on route 274 towards Islington Angel are on diversion from Regents Park Road via St Mark's Square and Prince Albert Road to Parkway. Bus Stop K on Regents Park Road along with the eastbound stop on Gloucester Avenue will both be closed. The closure will be in place until January 2024. Given the size and complexity of some projects, it’s not practical to remove them for a couple of days. The Queen Consort has been patron of the Big Lunch since 2013. The palace said thousands of events are expected to take place in streets, gardens and parks in every corner of the UK.

Extension of route 223 to Harrow View - 25 November 2023

A temporary timetable will be introduced on route 452 which will widen the frequency of the service to a bus every 12-13 minutes between 1100 and 1400 on Monday to Fridays, 1300 and 2300 on Saturdays and 1300 and 2000 on Sundays. On Monday to Fridays between 1400 and 2300 on Monday to Fridays the frequency will be widened to every 13 minutes. There is no change to the service outside of these times. This temporary timetable will give buses more time to complete journeys during increased traffic levels in the Hyde Park area during Winter Wonderland.

It could also pose difficulties for the royal family following the release of the Duke of Sussex’s controversial memoir, Spare, with a question mark over whether Harry and wife Meghan will be among those attending.

All TfL services will be running with no planned engineering closures on the network on the day of the Coronation. The Mayor of London, Sadiq Khan, said: "I'm incredibly excited that the eyes of the world are on London once again as Their Majesties are crowned, showing our capital city in all of its glory. With no planned engineering closures, I hope people make the most of the public transport options to enjoy the bank holiday.”
