This keyboard isn’t designed for gaming; it’s more for day-to-day use in an office environment. Certainly, the typing experience that the KC 6000 Slim For Mac offers is superior to that of both the keyboard of my MacBook Air and your typical rubber domes. This is by far the most important factor on any keyboard! The keys have a really nice weight and feel to them, and typing for a long amount of time on this keyboard is comfortable and does not result in any straining pains that I would sometimes get on my previous bog standard keyboard.

It must be USB - I understand the need for a wireless mouse, but a wireless keyboard is an unnecessary luxury for my day to day desk based work. Also, the less interacting with bluetooth, the better. In terms of the KC 6000 Slim For Mac features, an integrated metal plate runs through its innards. This means there’s minimal desk-flex, unless you forcefully push the edges of the keyboard around.It must have a numeric keypad (it does make me wonder how developers and other creatives work for large amounts of time without a numeric keypad) A built-in metal plate keeps the keyboard stable and non-slip on your desk. If you prefer a steeper angle when typing, the angle of inclination of the KC 6000 SLIM FOR MAC can be adjusted with 4 rubber feet supplied. A flexible cable allows connection under the desk. It must not be garish - I don't want to demo things to clients and my keyboard be a huge distraction because it is letting off a luminous glow. Typing away it does mightily well, for a slim keyboard it’s also really solid to use too thanks to the metal plate sandwiched in the middle which makes it very sturdy and more durable than your average office keyboard too. I was surprised at the weight of the box bearing in mind this is a slim keyboard, you would anticipate the keyboard would be relatively light and potentially flimsy but as I have mentioned the metal plate helps give this keyboard a weighty and sturdy feel, somewhat robust I would say! I didn’t use this keyboard for any gaming as it’s not really pointed at the gaming world but oh boy does the Cherry KC 6000 Keyboard type well, I have certainly enjoyed and will happily continue to enjoy it I can tell you. It is very tempting to use this keyboard as my daily keyboard in the office as it isn’t overly dissimilar to the keyboards in use there but is so much nicer to use. It must be comfortable. This will be used for long periods of time (6+ hours a day) and I've found myself experiencing some discomfort in the later hours when using my bog standard keyboard. As mentioned previously, the KC 6000 Slim For Mac isn’t mechanical. Instead, the KC 6000 sports a chiclet design, utilising a scissor mechanism to stabilise the keycap and help make a thinner, shorter-travel keyboard. It’s similar to that found in a laptop, which is another plus point of this product. The KC 6000 Slim For Mac features a closed housing, meaning there’s little room for dust and dirt to become bothersome. However, do be aware that this keyboard isn’t mechanical, thus the keycaps aren’t easily replaceable.

On the whole, I am very happy with this keyboard, and would give it 4 out 5 stars: Pro: Super comfortable to type on So the specifications and key features are done and dusted let’s get to the nitty gritty and see what the Cherry KC 6000 Slim Keyboard is all about, opening the box is very promising I can tell you. The keyboard has a very sturdy feel to it for a budget-friendly keyboard or at least an affordable one! The low profile keys make this keyboard a definitely suitable candidate for an office environment as it’s not over the top compared some keyboards these days. With the keys themselves being profile it’s much akin to using a laptop keyboard which is pretty ace bearing in mind the Cherry KC 6000 Slim is a full-size keyboard as well but nice and slim too, so it doesn’t take a huge amount of space up but the scissor switches used are really enjoyable to use as a daily keyboard too. I’m a big fan of both the font Cherry have chosen for the kets, it’s nice a clear to read, but also the inclusion of physical media keys which are always welcome in my eyes. On the subject of keycaps, the legends on the individual keys are abrasion-resistant – or laser-etched, as they’re better known. As such, it’s practically an impossibility for the legends to wear off, which means you’ll never be left guessing the key you’re pressing. The KC 6000 is far more responsive and comfortable to type on. What’s more, despite its slim design and appearance, it offers noticeably more travel than my MacBook Air, despite the latter being a 2015 model. Compared against the more modern MacBooks, key travel is greater. With the KC 6000 Slim For Mac, you have far more control over your individual keypresses.
