Whle fast lenses can be very useful, a small camera with a small lens can get a MUCH more intimate shot than a bazooka can. The light weight and good build quality are also assets. The lens does provides poor macro ability at best - at its close focusing distance of 50cm (around 20 inches) it provides only 0.11x magnification.I've used this lens extensively for professional assignments and private commissions, and it has come through every time.
